@jspring86az With the ram and storage crisis it makes a lot of sense. They have like 5x the prices for these components almost vs what they were

Lots of bad information out there --let's clear it up. • Recent workforce changes were made to restructure the XBOX business because it is not healthy. They were not made to replace employees with foreign workers. • The H-1B figures being referenced are Microsoft-wide visa renewals and new hire applications. They are not specific to XBOX and represent a small percentage of Microsoft's overall workforce. And the majority of roles impacted were not American roles. • XBOX is the largest employer of American workers in the gaming industry and the largest American gaming company. • And Asha is an American born, raised, and educated CEO, from Wisconsin.

I really am. It does make me sad how hard you are on Xbox sometimes. I get some people don't like job cuts, but she's fixing a problem that she didn't create. They bought a million studios during covid to boost game pass and obviously it didn't work. They are draining 60 cents out of every 100 keeping dead studios alive. And like Asha said there are like 13 levels of management at times. I get that they also cut other people but some of those roles could have been redundancies that weren't necessary. Remember some of these games took 10 years to make a game that would barely make any money. Some of these studios are not doing the work they need to do. I don't like exclusives but it's definitely the way to get people to buy Xbox in the future. Getting all of their popular titles actually released. Personally I don't think they released elder scrolls 6 because they were trying to milk the MMO for as long as they can. So they didn't prioritize development. Phil Spencer let the studios do whatever they wanted and he was praised because people were worried that Microsoft would get too involved. But studios were allowed to do very little to nothing for 8 years and get away with it. All to release some indie game no one would buy even on PlayStation. People are making all these videos about Xbox dying and they have been for weeks but it's silly. It was dying. She saw the issues. She's addressing them. The toughest issue yet is the console pricing but everyone is dealing with that. She's not getting close to enough credit. People get in their feelings about Job losses and I can understand why but Sony ditched almost the same amount of employees too. They barely got any flack. I get Windows Central and other places should be neutral but we also need people to stand against all the PS5 fanboys who are just hating on Xbox to justify their purchases. We need people to bring balance. To say yes. Xbox was in a crap situation but IT IS better. We have game pass. We have a better subscription service than sony. We have Xbox play Anywhere which is massive for people with gaming handhelds or PCS. I saved so much money being able to play games on both handheld and console. And we have a bright future with great exclusive games and high-end titles that most of us want to play rather than boring titles none of us would buy. I think she's doing great. Even if it has been rough times

The argument is, which makes sense, not every generation is backwards compatible with consoles. So PC games typically will play even for 20 plus years and even be installable for 20 plus years but Sony already isn't great with backwards compatibility. Since Sony has a monopoly while Steam has to compete with so many storefronts, Sony could pull access just to make extra money. It's harder for steam because they would just lose their user base at that point since there's other competition. I don't agree with this arguments but people would say that games have been cheaper on Steam and you don't have to pay for an online subscription. So the fact that PlayStation make you pay for an online subscription and it's a monopoly and they take away physical games so you can't resell them. But then they sell them to you for twice the price of steam (with steam sales). That's the argument. I sort of sit in the middle where I see the value of PC gaming and playing on steam. I also see the frustration a physical discs because it allows people to resell their games and make money back. But even after all of the massive price hikes you're still going to save hundreds of dollars buying a playstation. And you could buy a used PlayStation 5 even for like $300 at a pawn shop or maybe $400 on eBay. You can still get one brand new for hundreds of dollars cheaper so even with a subscription the steam machine is way too expensive with way too low of storage even in this climate. PlayStation loses money on every console sold so it's better to buy from them right now. Just my opinion

I'd love to see you talk about the clicks keyboard. To be honest, as a huge fan, and fellow creator, I'm absolutely shocked that you guys would release this. All the reviews are showing that it's the same weight as a entire phone. So your doubling the weight of your phone just to have a keyboard. Instead of being a fun light accessory, it feels extremely impractical and just like many of the battery banks of the world, they may get occasionally used and then thrown away. A very slow wireless charging battery bank that doubles the weight of your phone to get a keyboard wasn't what I was expecting. Then a super top heavy device on top of it. Maybe it's just gen one problems but I would love for you to talk about the challenges of all of this and address those things and then how they might change it in the future. I was so excited but had to cancel my pre-order because of all of the negative press. I think most creators in the world would want to support you because your the epitome of what most tech creators want to be. So the fact that you're getting negative reviews on this shows that it missed the mark. Figured I would share with you! Hope to hear more about it and to hear more about revisions in the future

People think they miss the old YouTube… What they miss is what life was like in 2010-2016… Because for the Gen Z and even some millennials that was the happiest days of their life. For Gen Z they were in Middle school or high school watching silly videos on their phones with friends and had none of the weight of be world to deal with… For younger millennials they just started adulthood and the world was an optimistic place… You don’t miss the old YouTube… you miss being a kid and being hopeful…

I deleted the initial post because there's no doubt there was some ignorance there. I haven't had a physical game that didn't have to re download nearly half the game before playing anyway. Not to mention the length of install time. When you add that with not being able to play off discs. It's a lot. Ultimately I'm just trying to say that we need to go EVEN MORE physical and be able to play off physical media again. And I praise the switch for doing so. I'll take that with some game key cards over what Sony does. But I take back my initial statement as it was misleading.

@DigestAndroid I’ve been testing physical releases for years and I can say this is false. The majority of PS discs have a fully playable build on them that can be installed offline and don’t require an update to play. Check this website where you can read these tests. DoesItPlay.org

Well it may imply that to you but it's the practical reality that people have to download nearly the entire game. Not only is it not playable on the cartridge but again you're having to re download nearly the entire game because of how game makers work with day one patches. They are very careful because the game plays from the cartridge directly, they are very careful on switch to actually give you the full game rather than re-creating the whole game through update on day 1. It is a completely normal thing to recreate an entire game with a day one patch nowadays on Playstation so it basically makes the entire disc useless outside of being able to resell it. For practical purposes it basically is a game key disc at that point

@DigestAndroid When you say “Sony has only been giving us key discs for years”, that implies that all discs have no data on it and everything must be downloaded from their servers like a key card. Which is false. Download and install are not the same thing.

But in my mind it is a game disc because anyone connected the internet has to redownload virtually the whole game anyway. Nintendo actually ships games that are playable with virtually no update. Maybe a 100mb update. My updates take about 1 minute on a switch cartridge AND it's playable from the cartridge. Not only can the PS5 games not even be played off the disc but you almost always have to download the entire disc anyway

@DigestAndroid It’s where the game is INSTALLED FROM that matters. It isnt a game key disc if the game is on the disc. This is a nuance that seems to be lost in this conversation by some people. THAT is what matters. Not whether the game requires installation.

@Chris_TV_Live Except you can't play the game off the disc like you can on a cartridge. You can play Nintendo switch games immediately off the cartridge cuz they actually have almost all of the first party games directly on the cartridge AND playable on the cartridge

@DigestAndroid I see so many people confidently wrong on this. Most PS discs have a playable build of the game on them. Please stop spreading this obvious misinformation.
