Noteworthy - Like every major Liberal project - from dental care to TMX (4-6x over budget) to Phoenix Pay System (15x over budget)- supporters never mention the cost or how it's going to be paid for. But somehow they're surprised that others are worried about the cost. PS I get the impression that it doesn't matter if the forecast cost is $90B or $120B or $200B partisans would still support the project. Just like they show no sign of caring that the federal deficit forecast for 2025-26 is 62% higher than the Liberals forecast just a year ago. I find it "bizarre" that so many people don't care about costs.

It's bizarre that @PierrePoilievre and his supporters are standing in the way of a long overdue project that will bring modern, clean, quiet, and fast train service to the southern Ontario, and southern Quebec corridors, where upwards of 35% of Canadians live.

@sarobertsonca Funny, because the unemployment rate is exactly the same under Carney as it was Trudeau. We also have the worst food inflation in the G7.

@sarobertsonca Carney's election promise to 'build the strongest/fastest-growing economy in the G7' was not contingent on anything Trump did or didn't do. Fife and the others are more than happy to serve as apologists for his failures.

Please 🤦‍♀️ Trump didn't give Canada a 69 cent dollar. Trump didn't give Canada subpar healthcare Trump didn't let 4 million refugees into Canada Trump didn’t introduce TFW Trump didn't legalize killer drugs in Canada Trump didn't double our debt Trump didn’t create food inflation The Liberals did all of this

The left didn’t want the F-15E crew rescued. They didn’t want that win for us. They didn’t care about the lives of the crew or the rescue/extraction team. They wanted what they could spin as blood on Trump’s hands and turning Americans against Trump. The commie left is disappointed. Again.

Canada lost 50,000 manufacturing jobs last year while the trade deficit hit $5.7 billion. Instead of backing the sectors that actually create wealth, the Liberals keep piling on carbon-tax costs that hit ordinary Canadians. We’re sitting on massive energy wealth and governing like a country with no options.

As an Iranian watching this rescue mission unfold, I was praying the American pilot would make it out alive, not just for him, but so the Islamic Republic could not use him as a bargaining chip or claim some twisted “victory.” At the same time, I felt a deep envy. Your government sent elite special forces, million-dollar aircraft, and moved heaven and earth to bring one American home. No hesitation. No excuses. In Iran, the regime uses human shields and recruited child soldiers to clear minefields during the Iran-Iraq war. They treat their own people like disposable tools. They are now recruiting child soldiers as we speak. The Islamic Republic has zero regard for human life. That’s the brutal difference. One side risks everything to save their own. The other sacrifices their own to stay in power. This hits hard when you have lived under both realities.

People who agree with Pierre for wanting to take a step back from the high speed rail being built aren’t opposed to or dislike high speed rail service. They are opposed to an endless ongoing money pit of studies, court cases, reports & never ending planning. If Canada was a normal place this project should have started & been built decades ago. It was first proposed in 1984. Billions have been spent on a project that hasn’t seen a square inch built. The left of course have become emotional about it. They never even thought about this train until Pierre said what he said. They do this every single time for everything. Quit being emotional over things & think logically for a second. This project is and always will be an epic boondoggle.

Just going to leave this little 'Fun Fact' here for all the High Speed Rail enthusiasts. This was brought to my attention, so therefore I must bring it to yours if you didnt already know... Liberals serve themselves first and foremost. This is another case in point. Anne-Marie Gaudet, is the spouse of François-Philippe Champagne She holds a senior executive role as Vice President, Environment at Alto and works within the organization responsible for advancing Canada’s proposed high-speed rail project (Quebec City to Toronto corridor) Under her: • Environmental strategy and compliance • Regulatory approvals and impact assessments • Sustainability frameworks tied to the rail project Gaudet is positioned inside an entity that is: • Federally backed • Dependent on government policy, approvals, and funding Her role is directly connected to this major national infrastructure initiative currently being shaped and eventually financed at the federal level. So maybe when Liberals, their friends and families stop personally benefitting off the backs of hard working Canadians who keep falling behind then conservatives might not be so upset and against this. Because from where I sit, this whole thing reads like a closed-loop favour factory. The Liberals want to expropriate land to serve a narrow slice of the country in one corridor, then hand the bill to everyone else, including millions who will never set foot on that train. Meanwhile, the government’s financing brain is tied at home to the environmental arm of Alto, and it all conveniently lines up with the climate sermonizing of Green Jesus Mark Carney. Call it policy if you like. From here, it looks a lot more like insiders taking care of their own while the rest of the country gets the invoice.. 👇🏻 newswire.ca/news-releases/… 👇🏻 journaldequebec.com/2021/01/18/une…

I thought I'd repost my piece on judicial appointments. Oddly enough, I published it the same day the Canadian Bar Association put out its "warning" to journalists about delegitimizing judges. I will have more on this topic.
Macdonald-Laurier Institute@MLInstitute

“In the end, the central difficulty with federal judicial appointments is the opacity of the process – not only for Canadians but also for most lawyers and justices. Unless one has served on a JAC or closely studied its evolution, there is little insight into how judges, who make fundamental decisions about our rights, are actually chosen,” writes Collin May (@CollinM582807) on lifting the veil on Canada’s broken judicial selection process. He will be remembered as a destroyer of the Republic as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Independence. Mitch McConnell is the traitor within.

Mitch McConnell is BLOCKING the SAVE America Act from being brought to the floor for a vote. There's only one reason he is doing this. He HATES Trump more than he loves his country. He's tagged. Let @SenMcConnell know your displeasure.

Sorry hon, the only person that ruined Canada is Trudeau-of course a liberal, that’s all they do is wreck things. And Carney is doing absolutely nothing to change that. Under Harper, Canada had the richest middle class IN THE WORLD! Canada will NEVER recover from the disastrous Trudeau/Carney government.

This is ridiculous. The Liberals have literally been floating a high-speed rail service since Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister and have never delivered. ‘They used to think big’: Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon slams Conservatives’ criticism of high-speed rail service. ctvnews.ca/politics/artic…
