Some points: If you must have your cell phone while driving, it must be on a mount. if your phone is mounted and you have Bluetooth operating and you receive a call, you may press it once to answer the call and you may press it a second time to hang up, but that is the only contact allowed. It cannot be mounted to watch videos. Class 7 (learners and new drivers) are not allowed to use electronic devices at all, even hands-free. #LeaveYourPhoneAlone #EyesFwdBC

We're supporting education/enforcement on Distracted Driving this month, but couldn't ignore this Excessive Speeder on SE Marine Drive. 110 km/h in a 50 zone! #SpeedKills

Every March, @VancouverPD supports the provincial campaign to enhance safety by educating drivers and enforcing Distracted Driving laws. We could be standing right beside you at a stop light/sign or pull up alongside you or have spotters midblock. Best to just #LeaveYourPhoneAlone #EyesFwdBC

Our @VancouverPD CVT found this today of a 5-ton truck. It is the drag link connection to the control arm and should have 1/8 inch play at most. Being this loose could cause complete and immediate loss of steering of this commercial vehicle. Taken OOS and towed from the scene. #DriveSafe #WeAreOutThere

Here's one you don't see often...this driver stopped on Knight Street at 7:36 a.m. doing 90 in a 50 zone. Not enough for excessive speed, so ticketed and allowed to continue to child's sport activity. But, 12 mins later, stopped again for doing 81 on Terminal Ave. by different Enforcement member. Go figure! #WeAreOutThere #SpeedMaims

Not 1, not 2, but 3 excessive speeding drivers this morning! 107 in a 50 at SE Marine & Nanaimo, 113 in a 50 at Clark & Charles and 101 in 50 in 500 blk. of Terminal Ave. All during rush hour. All ticketed and impounded. #SpeedKills #DriveSafe

Thank you to all of our VPD staff, including our public order teams and planning personnel, who worked closely with the organizers and the Iranian community to help ensure the safety of roughly 50,000 demonstrators today. The VPD supports people’s democratic rights and freedoms through lawful protest, while working to balance these rights with public safety.
Vancouver Police@VancouverPD

#VanTraffic: Pacific Blvd. has re-opened with the conclusion of this afternoon's protests. Thank you #Vancouver for your patience and for exercising your right to lawful demonstration peacefully.

Speed is the #1 cause of death in motor vehicle fatalities in BC. Speed enforcement today. This young person was doing 103 kph in 50 zone with no DL and FTS at red light. It's their 2nd excessive in two weeks. #SpeedKills

Not the best idea to run a dead red light and turn left from Main onto E12th while next to a @VancouverPD unmarked car. Even worse idea to do it with your 4 year old child in the back seat as you're enroute to pick up your other 2 elementary school kids. Worst yet, no DL since October, no Insurance since May. #DriveSafe

Great weather in BC! It's a clear, dry day in Vancouver so let's be safe. Also a good day for Traffic Enforcement 😁 Remember right turns only on Granville Street (heading into downtown) and no motorcycles on the shoulder on Highway 1 please. #DriveSafe

And, we're back! Never left actually, but Christmas and all...anyhow, this driver started the New Year with 80 km/h in 50 zone AND no driver's licence AND no insurance! C'mon, let's make 2026 safer than last year. #NoNeedForSpeed #DriveSafe
