I didn’t like the Michael movie. I went in thinking, 'What does this have to do with a $267M budget?' because it was giving Lifetime. There’s nothing wrong with the movie, but for that budget, I expected more.
I was wondering where Janet Jackson and the others were; the sisters matter as well! Also, why was Bubbles an AI monkey and only in three scenes? The whole movie just seems to be about Joseph Jackson. The acting was good, but I didn’t like the script!

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

The Voting Rights Act was the crowning achievement of the Civil Rights movement. The law that finally made America a true democratic republic. John Lewis was beaten nearly to death to get it passed. Dr. King gave his life to the cause. Today, the Supreme Court gutted it.
Whatever your politics, understand that this bill was the legal infrastructure of equal participation in our democracy. I'm a Southerner. I grew up in Tennessee. I know what these states look like without voting protection. This is a devastating blow to American democracy.
