@ironlily_art Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the past onna sumo was regularly associated with brothels and was more of a spectacle sport for men, the earliest example being an emperor asking two of his courtesans to sumo wrestle. 力士 (rikishi) refers to professional sumo wrestlers only.

Onna sumo existed, with plenty of references in ukiyo-e. That said, including female sumo in a game isn’t an issue but the challenge lies in how it is portrayed. Much like the art of conversation. And for those opposing the inclusion of a female sumo character by using such strong words, I personally don't believe they really care about Japanese history. ppl act like that just dislike Ubisoft no matter what they do at the moment, and they could get a good credit by picking the right side.

People think the female sumo in Assassin's Creed Shadows is a joke, but it’s real. They added a female sumo who kicks and pulverizes Japanese chuds. Worse, in the Azuchi-Momoyama period, 'rikishi' meant 'man of strength.' With such a rich history, they chose this to mock Japan

@standupmaths When France24 English announced the election exit polls, they seem to have initially messed up the chart. How might that have happened 🤔

What is a #DePIN ... and what is not a DePIN? 🤔 Here's one for the DePIN nerds. @MessariCrypto's State of DePIN 2023 Report by @Old_Samster and @DAnconia_Crypto has brought the question of DePIN categorization back to the fore. If you haven't read it already, you should definitely check it out: x.com/Old_Samster/st… The report listed over 650 #DePINs, up roughly 5x from just a couple months earlier. How? Two main reasons; 1) New DePINs being born 2) Existing projects being categorized as DePINs It's point 2) I'm most interested in. Debate around whether a project is a DePIN or not still rages on. I'd love for us, the DePIN community, to have more clarity. I think we all intuitively know that a blockchain-based WiFi network is more likely to be a DePIN than a talent acquisition platform, but we don't yet have a clear, easy, and aligned way of giving thumbs up or down. So here's a proposal. Looking forward to hearing your feedback. ------ What is NOT a DePIN? Let's start by going back to basics. What's the aligned definition of a DePIN? 'A decentralized application that uses tokens to incentivize people to provide services via real-world physical infrastructure.' That leaves us with a checklist; ☑️ Is it a dApp (decentralized application)? ☑️ Does it use tokens to incentivize hardware deployment or use? ☑️ Does it incentivize service offerings via said hardware? Pros: Simple, Fast, Non-Degen Friendly Cons: Broad -- and broad can be an issue. I don't think we need to update the definition of DePIN. I feel like the definition is sound we've all done a good job there -- BUT -- it is being stretched quite far. So far, that people are making the argument that technically even #Bitcoin can be considered a DePIN. I think that goes to show how badly we need to align on what a DePIN is not. Here's an initial 'Not a DePIN' checklist proposal; ❌ It's not a DePIN if it is a Layer-2, Layer-1, Layer-0, Rollup or Scaling Solution ❌ It's not a DePIN if doesn't incentivise physical hardware/infrastructure deployment/use ❌ It's not a DePIN if it's focus is incentivizing the deployment/use of living beings/people, or any non-machine The list was longer but I chopped it cos it's got to be easy to use, to be used at all. What do you think? Disagree with any? Would you add something else? Curious to see how this would play out in practice. ----- Thoughts on the Status Quo We're building a Layer-1 for DePIN over at @peaqnetwork, so the question of what a DePIN is comes up a lot, and it's one we care about deeply. On one hand, we'd love to be able to show parabolic growth of the DePIN sector -- this is obviously very much in our interest. On the other hand, the integrity of the industry matters a great deal to us too. We can understand all kinds of projects wanting to call themselves DePINs -- but being able to call any crypto a DePIN leaves DePIN nowhere, so as a community let's come together and set this straight.

@OmoshiroiCandy @mikazukiBIGWAVE Does the seam split refer to the open side at the top where you can remove the record? If you bought from a marketplace, can you share the place with me? I'm looking to build my collection 💃
