I'm constantly fascinated by the flaws of the human mind. The vast majority of people can be easily manipulated into doing the stupidest things if it is repeated enough times. Or if everyone else is doing it. I literally think most people would jump off a bridge if everyone else was jumping. People quickly complied with the mask requirement to enter a restaurant but thought it was OK to take it off once they sat down. They canceled Dr. Zeus and Aunt Jemima, tore down statues of our founding fathers, and followed one way signs in the aisles of grocery stores. Lunacy. But the same applies to investing. Insanity isn't just reserved for pandemics, traders can fall victim to crazy fads, like paying more for a tulip bulb than the cost of an average house. They also succumb to recency bias which causes them to buy at tops and sell at bottoms. The exact opposite of what you should do to make money. The recency bias after the 8 week decline into an intermediate cycle low has convinced most people that price for metals can now only go lower. All rallies are seen as bull traps that will just roll over and continue lower. It's always "one more leg down" with these people. But in a bull market you have to give rallies the benefit of the doubt because the bull eventually makes new highs. As I've said before: Any long position will be a winning trade in a bull market. At the recent lows the bullish percent dropped to 3. In a bull market this is a buy signal. It means the correction has done its job and washed out the previous bullish sentiment and the next leg up can begin. This is one of those tools that has a nearly flawless record of marking a bottom (especially when oversold to this degree). Yet many (if not most) traders will still ignore it and continue to look for lower prices, unable to turn off their recency bias.

Ticker : $PRL Note the criteria met prior to cheat entry anticipation: ↳ Multiple tests of resistance ↳ Higher Lows ↳ Tight risk via ADR ratio ↳ Volume dry-up Didn't notice this on the daily but dropping the timeframe opened eyes to a setup. On some of these ICOs → although daily trumps all, The lower timeframes can coordinate trades that end up making sense on the daily after the fact. It's all about aligning cues and fulfilling proven metrics at a win rate backtested across 1000+ trades. Now sitting at 15R in less than 24 hours.

Another fun tidbit to watch into month end. April’s closed at a new all-time high monthly close 22 times. The S&P 500’s return the remainder of the calendar year is then a perfect 22-0 for average gains of 11.18%. $spx

There is 83.91% chance S&P 500 makes a new high. Since 1950, there have been 88 cases where $SPX dropped over 5% from its all time high and then recovered 75% of the decline. In 73/87 cases, S&P 500 made new ATH. It took median of 12 days for new high or 25 days for new low.

Ask yourself: - in the upcoming earnings season, is company guidance more likely to be bullish or cautious? - are consensus estimates more likely to be revised up or down? - is this likely to be helpful or unhelpful for a stock market that’s trading on a forward PE 23x and CAPE 38x?

The word "colonel" is pronounced "kernel" because English borrowed it from Italian "colonello" (via Spanish "coronel") for the sound, but later adopted the French spelling "colonel." Pronouncing it literally as "col-o-nel" wouldn't be "utterly wrong" in theory, but it'd sound off to native speakers and confuse folks—English is full of these mismatches!

Australia was handed one of the greatest starting positions of any country in history Massive mineral wealth. Abundant energy. World-class beaches. Amazing climate. No fault lines... no earthquakes or tsunamis If you gave a 12-year-old this setup in a civilisation-building game, they'd build a paradise Instead, we got decades of useless politicians on both sides of the aisle who couldn't run a sausage sizzle at Bunnings without a $4 billion feasibility study and a royal commission Australia isn't unlucky. It's grossly mismanaged

“Does the stock want to go higher?” The sentence in both @traderwillhu and @mkl85 tweets yesterday really resonates with me. It’s such a simple question, but one you should always ask when deciding whether to move a stock from your watchlist to your actionable focus list. Before executing, ask it again. A simple pre-execution question, but it helps reset your mindset for clarity — keeping you from pulling the trigger on trades like a machine gun. When I reviewed some of the biggest winning trades on % run, they all fulfilled this same condition. Heavily beaten down with long-term neglect. First huge rally with strong volume. Re-setup with RS during consolidation at higher low base. Setup in cluster of MAs pinching together. First breakout candle is of high RVOL. +180% in a month. Specifically, when they trade in isolation from the market cycle, they tend to behave without influence from the broader market. This is my new desktop wallpaper (I cleaned the $KC chart with the new volatility adjusted RS on 2024 setup) x.com/jfsrev/status/…
Jeff Sun, CFTe tweet media
Maikel@mkl85

The question to really answer as a (long biased) trader is: does the stock wants to go higher? From this perspective we can explain a lot of concepts. It explains why RS works (if the general market is moving but the stock is underperforming, does it really wants to go higher?). It explains the mechanics behind a lot of setups: if it's making higher lows and volume dries up in pullbacks, it doesn't want to go lower, it wants to go higher! If it's gapping up on earnings it wants to go higher. If its riding it's rising MA's and can't break below, it wants to go higher. It it breaks support and gets bought up right away (undercut & rally), it wants to go higher! And per @jfsrevg post below (RS > setup), if everything in the market is terrible and this stock just isnt budging. IT WANTS TO GO HIGHER! Instead of looking for precise setup criteria, try asking yourself: does it want to go higher? And you'll be open to a lot more nuances.
