@JaraySzabolcs Thank you! I just checked your website, this is really cool! Lots of data, I love the dedication and attention to details

@VictorKerman Nice work! 👍👍
Soon, I will have to start working on Starship flight diagrams, like these⬇️ for the Falcon flights.

Made a telemetry infographic for Starship Flight Test 12.
It shows a logarithmic plot of the flight trajectory from the launch pad to the splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Interesting takeaways:
1. Due to one RVAC engine failure during ascent, Starship experienced a slight performance dip but was able to successfully recover and reach its target trajectory.
2. During peak heating on reentry, Starship performed a slight atmospheric skip (bounce) before fully diving in.

@TimWrede2 @Ljw411467464868 Absolutely, that is indeed a better way to do it + it enables some interactivity as well, something to think off!
English

@VictorKerman @Ljw411467464868 Would definitely be interesting to see, maybe it’s worth doing a website that creates these graphics so everyone just inserts data points and the rest is done by the website? Idk how doeable it is but probably would be quicker in the long run
English

@TimWrede2 @Ljw411467464868 Thank you for the interest! I am definitely planning to do that for the next launches
As for the previous ones, I wasn’t planning, but maybe I should!
English

@VictorKerman @Ljw411467464868 So when will we see such graphics made for othercurremt and past launches?
English

@TimWrede2 Thank you! It took some time to write down the data from the stream, and fill-in the gaps where some information wasn’t shown
Looking forward to the Flight Test 13

Thank you! Yes, even though the game is forgiving with heat during the re-entry phase, I think it’s realistic to use the heat shield for the upper stage and attach engines radially. I wonder if this is possible in real life for Falcon 9
As for the tests…. well, it’s pretty stable during re-entry, the main issue was the soft landing (for both booster and upper stage), that always takes some practice..
English

@VictorKerman nice numbers but i bet reentry was hairy - one thing is to add air brakes, another is surviving that plasma without flipping. how many did you lose?

Revival 9R - 97% Reusable Vehicle
Finally managed to build a fully reusable variant of Revival 9 vehicle introduced a few days ago.
Upper stage is now reusable thanks to several changes:
- Poodle engine replaced with 4 radially attached SuperDraco engines
- Added heat shield to withstand peak heating re-entry
- Added 1 parachute and 2 air brakes to reduce landing burn cost
In addition, having the same Booster, 9R variant is able to carry 16.9t payload to LKO (25% improvement).
In this infographic version, some neat economy calculations as well as the ascent profile with DeltaV measurements displayed.
I hope someone finds this useful in attempts to re-create/improve Falcon 9 real-life counterpart rocket.
P.S. I wish I could record a video demonstration, but my laptop barely handles minimum graphics. More screenshots in the thread below

@ConnorRocketGuy Interesting! I wonder if it’s possible to connect with all these docking ports at once?
English

@VictorKerman I used the jr clamp-o-tron docking port, Oscar-c liquid fuel tank, and a fuel line/duct, then just positioned them. I haven’t tested it out yet, hoping to soon though.

English

@ConnorRocketGuy Looks beautiful, I love the dedication of making the custom gridfins out of plates, great work!
English

@JoeTegtmeyer Thank you! That was the goal, it's not perfect, but provides nice insights
English

@VictorKerman Pretty cool … graphics make telling the story so much better for a wider audience!
English

@n_brandeggen @sts1251 It’s awesome that Starship has such capability in its arsenal
English

@sts1251 @VictorKerman Possibly, but could also be part of the overall strategy of reducing peak heating / peak pressure on Ship
