@SaulGonzalezCA I hate to be that guy, but that property is too valuable to be used for an activity that people simply aren't doing anymore. Skating rinks and bowling alleys have faced the same fate.

Over the weekend I met up briefly with the preservation activist trying to save L.A.'s Cinerama Dome from continued closure and possible demolition. He touched on the recent threat he's received from the owners.

Judaism like all things needs to be organic while maintaining Jewish ways through a well protected “fence around the Torah” however being organic as a people that coexist in a greater society. Committing to antiquated, medieval and antisocial styles of dress and appearance does not help the Jewish identity rather it further alienates as a whole for the “sheep” that follow inorganic styles and mores…There is a greater power from being within rather than self imposed ancient styles that exist only without.

Part of our people’s problem is illustrated by this pic taken today of a meeting at the White House. It is what the vast majority think of when they think of Jewish people. We are once again our own worst enemies when some try so hard to look and act different by following antiquated anti social styles chosen by various religious sect leaders. It is not normative and further alienates us from society. This is not who we are, however this is who we are seen as being. We don’t fit in by design of a fringe few.

No. The original point seemed to be that CO2 levels produced by humans didn't matter, like, at all. I thought that a bit recklessly dismissive. CO2 levels have increased as I mentioned, which isn't an argument but a measurable fact. Where you and that other guy who cunted himself off to Cuntsville seem to have the disconnect is time scale. I'm sure the CO2 levels were super high when Earth was a sea of lava, but that is irrelevant to today. What IS relevant are measurements pre and post industrial era, where pre-industrial is taken to mean within the window of human history. From the earliest known civilizations through until the Industrial Revolution, CO2 ppm remained more or less stable for about 800,000 years. Since the IR (260+ years or 0.03% of 800,000), levels have increased 50%. A doubling of CO2 ppm represents a roughly 3 degree increase in temperatures. These are facts. I'm not claiming that every climate apocalypse harbinger is right in their claims. I'm not siding with any climate policy. Those are separate issues. I'm not sure exactly what has pissed you off so much about discussing climate change that you feel the need to be aggro with me, but I hope you find peace from it.

@captive_dreamer Really dishonest and bad faith post. The majority of his complaints about the Truth were how disrespectful it is to Christians. He also points out that behaving decently means not mocking other religions. But you are a bought Zionist cuck so who gives a fuck about integrity?

@WalteroDimRF @goodfoodgal Well that’s silly. We are talking pre-industrial and post industrial numbers. 280 PPM to 420 PPM, which granted is not double, but high enough.

@goodfoodgal It’s actually 0.04% But even at that tiny amount, it’s meaningful. The atmospheric co2 has nearly doubled under humans. Each time co2 doubles in the system, the temperature increases by roughly 3 degrees. You don’t need your blanket to be thick to be effective.

The Reform movement is historically very progressive. They were all in on woke and Black Lives Matter and all that stuff. Since October 7, every Reform congregation I am aware of has emphatically reaffirmed its support of Israel and cut ties with progressive organizations that will not support Israel (or progressives have cut ties with Jewish communities). In most of these congregations, there are a handful of families that are “anti Zionist,” and they either deal with it or quit. Not a lot of families have quit synagogues or temples over this. There is not a significant controversy in any Jewish communal organization. The people who claim to be “anti-Zionist Jews” are not involved in any capacity in Jewish communal life and most of them are not Jewish and only started pretending they were to bash Israel after October 7.

This narrative has been pushed in stuffy media publications since at least 2010. It has never been my experience in any shul I have attended. Here's an anecdote from my current one: we pray for America, we pray for Israel, and at kiddush we talk about our kids and the cholent.

@WalteroDimRF @RealTheoWold Except every law that attempts to do that, also includes everything else from HRT to even supportive talk therapy. In fact, there has never been a law that only bans these operations.

Last year, Justice Jackson dissented in the U.S. v. Skremetti case-- in which she argued that states have no right to ban gender transitions on minors. Today, she was the lone dissent on Chiles v. Salazar, writing that "there is no right to practice medicine which is not subordinate to the power of states." So, states have no right to pass laws banning children from changing their sex-- but states DO have the right to ban counselors from telling boys they are not girls. You truly can't make it up.

@ComfortablySmug This is such a disingenuous point. If you knew anything about oral arguments, the whole point of a judge or justice asking a question is because they’re skeptical or have questions. Otherwise, they would not hear cases. Other justices literally say the same thing.

I’m mixed on this. I appreciate the 31 days. Would 14 more days really make a difference considering how much milk they got out of this cow putting it in theaters? It did amazing. Pulling it while PHM still has legs and The Super Mario Bros is about to take over everyone’s choice of what to see in theaters seems logical—it’s more of like a guest at a party who had a great time, brought over an expensive bottle of wine everyone enjoyed and got served an extra elegant tasty dinner; they’re now going home with the girl they had their eyes on when they first entered the party and are saying, “Thanks for having me, our Uber just arrived. Can’t wait for the next party!”

If anyone wants to know if @ParamountPics and David Ellison will live up to their word on a 45 day theatrical window, @ScreamMovies 7 is going on digital PVOD tomorrow after 31 days. They shouldn't be trusted to buy @warnerbros, can't keep their word. Kill that deal.
