Incredible satellite imagery from the Southern Hemisphere this morning as Cyclone Narelle now reaches 125 MPH in strength.
The storm’s 45 mile-wide eye has deepened below 955 mbar and a hive of mesovortices can be seen spiraling around the eyewall.
An absolute Australian titan.

Cyclone #Narelle is back to being a major tropical system off the NW coast of Australia.
Going to be one of the strongest storms to hit this part of Australia on record late Thursday.
Remember, things rotate opposite south of the equator and generally the left-front quadrant is the worst unlike hurricanes in the northern hemisphere.

In Dubai and Abu Dhabi, there is the risk of strong to severe thunderstorms on Thursday night. Wind and hail may accompany the strongest storms on an isolated basis. The main risks is heavy, torrential rainfall and localized flooding. Low, but not zero, tornado risk.

AccuWeather dropped its 2026 hurricane forecast today.
Their forecast of 11-16 named storms is actually warranted and may prove accurate with a strong El Niño in place.
However, they continue to double down on a horrid landfall map/forecast, which missed by a mile last year.
