@Shawnelms88 @ActualAero Remake is great and Rebirth is one of the most fun games ever made. The combat alone makes the game worth playing, and add the best music gaming has ever seen + a stellar and one of the best casts ever. it's a great experience.

@DarkMaga21 @ActualAero Nah, OG had a bunch of silly stuff and minigames. Put even more in, the game is supposed to be a massive journey, not a rush to the finish.

Calling totk a bad sequel is weird and I’ve seen this kind of sentiment more and more. Tears of the kingdom is objectively better than breath of the wild by every conceivable metric. All botw has over totk is that it came first.

@BringBackBanjoK Not really, the conclusion is ganondorf gets beaten and they do their repairs, same as all Zelda's including botw. Botw had link and Zelda fighting against their failures and saving a war torn kingdom, totk is just "we gotta stop ganondorf lol".

@EviljSrk @OctorokR I love old zelda, i lrefer it but i am able to not be blinded by nostalgia completely I think the best possible zelda game is a blend of open world & zones like classic zelda. +proper dungeons, gear like the hookshot to find in them, + actual Zelda music +good sidequests

@Williamoogle @OctorokR Tears is just so much better to me. There’s so many fans who prefer old Zelda and hate modern Zelda because of BOTW. I tell them to start on TOTK instead as someone who played the games in reverse order. People just don’t appreciate Tears because they played BOTW first.

I'll answer this in a retweet so everyone can see it: Tears of the Kingdom, fundamentally, does not understand the appeal of its predecessor. BotW is a deeply flawed game, but it got people to look past those flaws by presenting a wonderous, brand-new world to explore and encouraged out-of-the-box experimentation with its wonderful physics engine. Cutting down a tree and using it as a bridge is one of the most satisfying moments of discovery in all of Zelda, and moments like that defined the first 10 hours or so of BotW's runtime. Tears of the Kingdom does not capitalize on any of this. The world is played out - therefore, the act of discovery is absent from perhaps about 75% of the game, minus new sections in the sky, the underground, and a few changes on the surface. But even worse: the vehicle building is a one-size-fits-all solution to every puzzle. Need to travel over some lava? Build a vehicle. Need to cross a river? build a vehicle. Need to climb a mountain? Build a vehicle. BotW worked because its mechanics had limitations - TotK removed those limitations and instead gave players a tedious, time consuming, yet ultimately overpowered solution to dealing with all the game's many problems. TotK is by no means a bad video game - a title like that is reserved for pieces of shit like Mixtape, DQ2, or 1348 Ex Voto - but it's a bad sequel because it takes all of the strengths of BotW, throws them away, and then proceeds to puppeteer its corpse without understanding why anyone found the game appealing in the first place.

@Bongl0id @SothisInkling For me it is a problem, that means the game will look like shit constantly, no matter what graphical fidelity the game has, and yeah, as we agreed. The game has no excuse to run at 30 looking like this. it will look worse than radiant dawn on the wii to me if it's 30 fps.

@Williamoogle @SothisInkling 30 fps for a turn based game isn't a problem, but the switch 2 is more than powerful enough to run this game at a higher frame rate than that so they would have no excuse.

@Williamoogle @SothisInkling Yeah? Three Houses had insane FPS drops well below 30fps, into the low 10s at times. If this game is at least able to keep a steady 30fps, that's a massive improvement already.

@Jrange378 @sammylee_0 When characters are like you say just for the sake of it i agree. But for Cloud that is part of what makes him so fantastic imo. Just a messed up kid trying to act like a badass SOLDIER. (An extreme oversimplification obviously)

@sammylee_0 100% not even really a discussion. Whether he is actually the best FF protagonist is subjective though. I personally dislike the silent brooding protagonists, they feel like stunted idiots. I liked Tidus cause he felt much more like a normal dude thrown into an insane...fantasy.

@sammylee_0 Lightnings Gunblade. Always loved the transforming design. Buster sword would be the obvious first choice tho, but uh... that's not a wieldable sword.

@Ashito7873 Genuinely peak. Also the song that plays during this QB duel with Red XIII is sick, and has some storytelling in it. I love it. FF7 remakes may have the best music of all time.
