Conservatives love saying “don’t erase history” right up until the history makes them uncomfortable. A land acknowledgement is literally just acknowledging reality: Indigenous people were here first, treaties exist, and colonization happened. That’s not “racist,” that’s history. What’s actually concerning is how some people are so fragile they hear basic respect for Indigenous peoples and immediately feel attacked. Imagine being offended by truth, respect, and reconciliation. 🇨🇦

Outgoing Governor General Mary Simon: "We know that Indigenous languages are not part of the Official Languages Act, but to me they are just as important as English and French ... every day there are languages across the country that are being lost. To me that's not something we should just ignore. I think we need to do more for Indigenous languages."

When a Conservative Party @CPC_HQ Member of Parliament can’t do something as simple as a land acknowledgement, it tells you everything you need to know about this party’s stance on First Nations people. #FirstNations #cdnpoli
