@whataimeereads_ I pick phrases or emotions in a scene and expand on those. In a scene, I look for where I can add texture (the 5 senses). But it's a tricky line not to over do it.

The problem with me as a writer is that I really struggle with 'fleshing out' the novel without talking absolute nonsense. Any advice?

@moss_fiore If I'm publishing from Draft2Digital, I do my own. But KDP gives me homicidal tendencies so I hire that one out.

Congress should represent the people and the people include naturalized citizens. A single Congressperson doesn't have the power of POTUS so the requirement can be different w/o endangering national security, though in truth, POTUS being citizen born has been shown to be useless as well. These folks can be a foreign agent just as easily as a naturalized citizen.

If you are required to be an American born citizen to be president, then the same requirement should apply to be in Congress!

@onealwalters I think you need to be aware of the trends. If the market for your book uses X as cover art, then it can be helpful if yours looks like that. It's an auto connection for the reader. But sometimes breaking the trend is better. Knowing the how and when is the magic.

Should self-published authors follow trends in book cover design?

@struutinsky I use placeholders all the time. (use word that means X) or (find out where this is). I try not to run down a rabbit hole if the words are flowing. I can always fill that in later when editing.

Do you ever write placeholders in your draft when you’re stuck, like “Something dangerous happens here”? I have quite a few along the way, usually when I’m trying to move to the next part faster.

@brclothwrites I have stress dreams mostly. I'm trapped in a parking garage that's collapsing, or I'm on a 12 lane highway and need to get somewhere but traffic is a nightmare. Sometimes my daughter is involved and I can't save her.
