Chuck Norris, the martial arts champion who became an iconic action star and led the hit series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” has died. He was 86. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday, and his family posted a statement saying he had died Friday morning: It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends. NOW - Netanyahu: "Jesus Christ has no advantage over Genghis Khan. Because if you are strong enough, ruthless enough, powerful enough, evil will overcome good."

When John Piper became a pastor in 1980 (34yo) … ▪ 0 elder experience ▪ 0 hires/fires ▪ 0 experience with a church budget ▪ 0 baby dedications ▪ 0 hospital visitations ▪ 0 funerals ▪ 2 weddings ▪ 15 sermons preached … Then 26 funerals in his first 78 weeks. “So that’s the way it started. I created the bulletin. I led the service. I did one funeral every three weeks for a year and a half. Funeral after funeral after funeral. Which was one of the best things that happened, because when you do funerals and a hundred older people in this church are wondering if you give a hoot about them, and whether you are there just to take a stepping stone to teach in seminary, and you’re there for them every three weeks, not only on Sunday, but on Thursday afternoon, putting their friends in the ground, wonderful things happen. Wonderful things.” #coramdeopascon
