So glad to hear coppicing is being talked about already. It could become the most famous coppiced tree! “National Trust manager Andrew Poad said the stump was "healthy" and they might be able to coppice the tree, where new shoots grow from the trunk's base.”

Very sad to see the felling of the Sycamore gap tree on Hadrian’s wall - I hope at least it has a chance of being protected and perhaps new life through coppicing? @forestrycomm perhaps you can show them how?

@EvanDriscoll10 @walk_hackney Richmond Rd is and was never a “major route”. It’s a residential road, surrounded by other residential roads. Graham Rd, on the other hand, is an A road - A1207.

And you’re right, many parts of H’ney have had quiet roads, like my area, London Fields. No need for road closures there. Closure of major route Richmond Rd is having disastrous consequences for Graham Rd.

This daguerreotype offered by @Sothebys at $50 000 - $70 000 is not the earliest known photograph by a Chinese photographer, is not from 1853, was not shot by Lai Chong and doesn't depict General "Ko-Lin". Other than that their description is spot on. 🧐😂
