Naaahh, you could argue that what is white supremacist is saying that when black people have a dialect that has slight grammar quirks (like a large amount English dialects do), that those dialects needs to be sectioned off and considered a distinct language to keep English “pure”

South Africans are engaging in white supremist rhetoric unknowingly. AAVE is a language just as Xhosa and Zulu are language. If you want to argue it’s a dialect, that same argument can be used for both Xhosa and Zulu.

Sigh…. Considering the fact that I am a linguistics professor and researcher specializing in Black languaging practices, and I teach a course on African American language, let me repeat: AAL and English are different languages. “South African people be speaking” is NOT English.

We don't. We're critical of "leftists" who romanticize and idealize religions of the global south and the oppressed as somehow relatively untouched by colonial modernity and therefore are suitable weapons of liberation. That's the attitude we're criticizing.
