if your company is big enough and uses AWS I bet there's at least two different teams trying to build "heroku but for our company"

Mini-version: SOC2 compliance tools expanded the market for SOC2 compliance ZIRP yielded too much money to startups who didn't know what to do with it all, and thanks to the above, everyone started getting SOC2 sooner More companies getting SOC2 created a new checkbox for procurement to differentiate between the multitude of potential vendors to use Now we're all stuck with SOC2 being table stakes for enterprise b2b way earlier than it was historically
Jacob Matson@matsonj

who is going to do the takedown on how soc 2 somehow got added to the list of required things procurement teams ask for in order to buy?

@Der_Kernel_ they said that it was just entering pre production when announced iirc which basically means they made no progress also I think they just bumped the number up, they realized some larger change needed to be made and bumped it, it’s a random internal number anyway it means nothing

For additional context, I find it odd that before they spoke on how Elder scrolls 6 would be on creation engine 2, same as starfield, and only recently are they now saying “oh it’s creation engine 3. This can mean a number of things but I find it odd to change up the narrative of the engine they are using for development 3 years after development allegedly started after starfield. In my mind I think this means the plans for TES6 was a lot closer to Starfield, procedural dungeons and generation and full of loading screens. but they’ve made some engine adjustments to move away from those decisions. I wouldn’t be surprised if when they do announce more on it Todd says some “16x the detail” quote that’s along the lines of, “we have zero loading screens now, that’s right, zero!” Also Bethesda has flip flopped multiple times with their PR. At first it was “oh 76 was not even our main studio, we have been working on starfield since fallout 4” to after the fixed it up saying “oh yeah we had a larger part in that”. So sorry if i don’t trust their statements on production and updates. I do not believe they had any progress on it when they announced it. I think that was a move to temper the fans after fallout 76 and starfield announcement to be like “hey we haven’t forgotten” and also to boost their market value to potential buyers of Bethesda as they were more then likely looking for a buyer at this point.
Der Kernel@Der_Kernel_

I’m still convinced they had a lot of progress on TESIV and once starfield was received with a less then warm perception, they gutted it and restarted.

@johnloeber almost every answer here is inaccurate bc it assumes you are running rebase with no flags, rebase can do a lot more!!

i frequently ask engineering candidates what the difference between a git rebase and a git merge is i have heard so many (100+) garbled, nonsensical, or subtly wrong answers — but always using the right vocab — over the past few months, that at this point i feel totally fried and would not personally answer this question as well as i would have before i started doing this. i frequently have to look it up just to override all the wrong stuff i am hearing. this is like context window pollution for LLMs

Twitter (pardon me, X) search is completely unusable now. You can type the exact words that appear in a post and it will not bring it up. I am far from the first to make this observation. Or am I? It's hard to tell.

Guy was cooked. If he says, “No of course Afroman didn’t diddle my wife.” Then his claim of mental anguish is unrealistic. He can’t say, “Yes, Afroman did her.” For obvious reasons. He was stuck with the feeble response of “I don’t know”. Genius on the part of Afroman’s lawyer.

its funny everybody seems to think Martin Shkreli went to prison for the HIV drug price increase thing but it was actually just securities fraud, using the funds of the pharma company he was CEO of to pay back his hedge fund investors
