@NateNewsNow Wow. I'm sure this stuff doesn't faze you, but know that so many of us are so appreciative of all your hard work and sacrifice to bring us the truth!
@NateNewsNow Good thing I watching your tweets, because CTV didn't broadcast any audio when the verdict was read and auto subtitles didn't pick it up!!
@LibertyWom32868@NateNewsNow Amen!! Their entire system seems so lax about all this, especially compared to how tight and strict things were in Idaho. It's so weird.
AFTERNOON THREAD: Back in the courtroom. The bailiff just told everyone in the audience that if they take any photos, they will be removed from the courtroom. He said he heard people were taking pictures this morning while the undercover FBI agent was on the stand.
AFTERNOON THREAD: We are back in the courtroom. Spotted Rexburg Police Det. Ray Hermosillo in the lobby waiting area. Lori filed a motion weeks ago asking that he not be allowed to testify. Judge denied it. Last time Hermosillo testified was in Chad Daybell's April 2024 trial in Boise, Idaho.
Frerer also found a letter from Chad Daybell to Alex in the truck. He did. There was evidence of gun ownership too - a practice bullet. When you're loading your gun, it will help you dry fire, Frerer says.
Lori says she's been unable to get a hold of her investigator. Lori asks if she can cross-examine Brandon on another day out of order so she can get the information from her investigator. Judge asks if any of the documents she plans on using may have been marked by the state already as exhibits.
@NateNewsNow You don't eat oranges (or anything acidic) if you are nausiated. I think she's faking it! She sounds fine except when she's trying to get a point across (like after she said oranges- she tried to gag herself as if she were going to get sick)
We have courtroom video from this morning when Lori Vallow Daybell showed up in a wheelchair. You can watch it here: youtube.com/watch?v=4ROZGs…
Do you think the trial will continue as normal on Wednesday?
Next juror wrote that they have a favorable view of police after watching the show "Donut Operator" on YouTube. Judge says, "Donut operator?" Lori laughs. Nobody seems to know what it is. The juror is excused. Now I'm thinking about donuts...
During the last trial, 52 potential jurors advanced and then 16 jurors were picked from that group. It took about 90 minutes to get the 52. We are about halfway to 52 and have been in court for around an hour. It seems far more jurors have heard about Daybell versus the last trial.
@NanceNatorious@NateNewsNow And Lori has told their judge she will rest in front of the jury, however she could technically change her mind and testify.
Just saw Brandon Boudreaux walk into a private room near the courtroom. Madison County Sheriff Ron Ball is also here from Rexburg. Waiting to get into the courtroom.
Looking ahead to next week...When Lori Vallow Daybell's jury reaches a verdict, I'm told the media/public will be given a 30-60 minute heads up before it is read. The judge has authorized us to show the verdict with a 5-minute delay rather than the 30-minute delay that's been in place for the trial. We will carry it on the East Idaho News YouTube channel.
The next witness has arrived. Judge is back in the courtroom and Lori was just brought in. Sidenote: many ladies in the courtroom have commented on the attractiveness of Judge Beresky. One on my row just said, " He's so hot! I'm not hurting with this view."
Back in the courtroom for day 3 of Lori Vallow Daybell's trial. Less media and public today. Lori Vallow Daybell will resume questioning retired Chandler Police Officer Daniel Coons about the crime scene.
Keith Morrison’s daughter surprised him with an early Father’s Day gift.
“Hate the crime, love the shirt,” he told me.
