There has been FUD around how the recent amazing proximity gaps results affect current implementations of ZK. STARKs and Ligero use proximity gap theorems. At @ligero_inc, we have *NOT* relied on any unproven conjectures on proximity gaps. Google's ZK implementation by @abhvious and @MatteoFrig60839 *DO NOT* rely on any unproven conjectures. Both us and the Google team provide the best possible security and are *NOT BROKEN* by any of the amazing recent results. Thank your for your attention!

@mccurley I don’t know who the orcid benefits. not me. “author disambiguation” is not a real problem for human researchers doing their work. The problem of attribution after name changes is handled by tenure committees and gscholar already.

In looking at the papers from Crypto 2023, I found that a shockingly small number of authors supplied their ORCIDs. Are people really that lazy?

@LindellYehuda Your paper uses the same multiparty correlations that we do. However, instead of checking consistency w/ expensive (straight line extractable) ZK proofs, we exploit the fact that shares of \rho (per your notation), act as pairwise MACs. See S3.2 of our paper for an overview.

We have just uploaded to ePrint a major update to our multiparty ECDSA paper from CCS18. The main changes are in the proof, and we have moved away from Paillier to OT based multiplication. (And new co-authors.) eprint.iacr.org/2018/987.pdf

My first opinion piece for WSJ, in praise of public libraries (against funding cuts). Oddly, most commentators seem to dislike libraries! Who knew? What the Medicis Could Teach Eric Adams - WSJ wsj.com/articles/what-…

random feature idea for @Twitter – I wonder if it might be interesting to be able to enable things just for your veteran followers. Like "only people who have followed me for 3 months can message me" or "only my 3+-month followers can respond to this tweet."

Very excited that I just got interviewed for NPR's All Things Considered about the Leonardo Mona Lisa incident yesterday. What fun. Thanks @SebastianSmee for pointing them to me! Tune in later today, hopefully I will not sound like a fool.

17/ Coinbase's MPC system that was built in-house supports both ECDSA/secp256k1 and EdDSA/ed25519, and hence it can handle cryptographic signing for almost any blockchain out there. There is also zero gas overhead. To the blockchain, an MPC wallet looks just like an EOA wallet.

1/ Earlier this week, @Coinbase launched a web3 browser built directly into its main mobile app, powered by MPC tech that eliminates the need for you to manage your own keys. 🧵🧵🧵Here's why it's a big deal. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
