When will @CNBC send Kernan to Fox News, where he clearly wants to be. A lot of us watch CNBC to escape partisan hackery. Watching @PeteButtigieg detonate him with simple math right now is satisfying, but also shouldn't be necessary in order to get the news of the day.

@ptrckbrry I'm old enough to remember the #NAVAR album review entitled "Better Than Better Than Ezra," though I can't remember the publication.

Part 249 – Good by Better Than Ezra Missed the Winston Salem show, so tonight I played “Good.” Love this band. 🎶 Fun fact: the chorus’s non-verbal sound was just a placeholder—but it stuck, and became iconic. #TheDailyChorus #BetterThanEzra #Good #90sRock

@cwebbonline EV consultant here, what did you end up switching to? And how does it compare to the early days with your Tesla?

Turns out, Tesla gutted most of its supercharger maintenance workers and the entire corporate supercharger team as well. For those who don’t know, Tesla’s supercharger network is the reason to own a Tesla. That night, I told my wife, “We’re done with Tesla. Still getting an EV, but not from them.” By Sunday, we had another brand. Canceled my Tesla order. This is what Musk has been doing to Tesla. Now imagine him doing it to the U.S. government. No human interaction. No accountability. Everything outsourced to AI. You need help? Too bad. You need answers? Figure it out yourself. We’re already seeing it now. Give him more power, and human interaction—customer service, government services, democracy itself—will be a thing of the past. We are so fucked. -end-

I saw people protesting at my local Tesla service center today. Right on ✊🏾 I’m convinced that unelected co-president Elon Musk is turning the U.S. government into a version of how he runs Tesla—and that should terrify everyone. Hear me out. When I first got my Tesla, I loved it. They delivered it straight to my home during peak COVID lockdown. Anytime I had a question, I could easily reach a sales rep or advisor. Sometimes, we’d even stop by the Tesla store just to check out the cars—always a friendly experience, no issues at all. 🧵

According to @CNBC, @Ford just announced November ICE vehicle sales were DOWN just over 6% YoY. However, #EV sales were UP over 43%, and #PHEV sales were UP over 75% YoY! Don't believe the "nobody wants EV's" narrative. Great turnout from a non-@Tesla, American automaker.

Did you notice the narrative on #ElectricVehicle sales growth soured precipitously in the last couple weeks? What's behind it? It turns out, EV sales in 2023 Q3 ONLY rose 50% year over year, instead of 71% like in 2022's year over year comps with 2021. (Never mind that, for starters, the average interest rate on an auto loan then was 5.1%, vs 9.0% right now.) There are short-term headwinds, sure, but the sky is not falling. "Reality check: Despite the doom and gloom, EV sales are growing faster than any other segment in the U.S. — and are on track to surpass 1 million annually for the first time this year. EV sales rose 50% in the third quarter compared to the same period in 2022. That's a modest cooling off from 2022's Q3 record growth, when EV sales soared 71% over Q3 in 2021. What's next: @CoxAutomotive predicts EVs will account for 8%-9% of U.S. auto sales for 2023." axios.com/2023/11/07/ele…

R&D has to be one of my favorite things to do as a Consultant. I drive a @chevrolet Volt, which is a plug in hybrid electric vehicle (#PHEV), and have since January 2022. It gets 50-60 miles on full electric and has an 8 gallon tank that gives me another ~340 miles on gas, if I need it. I love it. I wanted to get some first hand experience with a @Tesla , so this past weekend, I hopped on the @turo app and rented a Model 3. I study them, I report on them, I speak with owners of them routinely, I respect them as the best selling brand among EV's, but I had never driven or charged a #Tesla personally. Short story: This thing is slick. Disclaimer: I'm glossing over the highlights here, there is a LOT to this car, and I'm leaving most of the detail out to keep it "short." Handling and ride comfort were great, even on aftermarket low profile tires. Like most EV's, the acceleration is sharp and addictive. I'll stop there because @CARandDRIVER does a much better job. The navigation estimates what your charge will be when you arrive at your destination. If it determines that you should charge on the way, it will add the nearest Tesla charging station to your trip, and start pre-conditioning the battery for it. I was looking forward to charging (nerd alert), and it didn't disappoint. Tesla gamified the entire experience, both driving AND charging. You have access to streaming apps (@netflix , @hulu , @YouTube ) and GAMES on the 15" screen when parked. The Model 3 has a max DCFC acceptance rate of 170kW, so I never had more than 30 minutes to kill at the "pump." (The @WeAreTheWrecks YouTube vids rocked on this sound system.) What fascinated me even more were the conversations I overheard at charging stations between Tesla owners and curious onlookers. Twice, I witnessed enthusiastic EV drivers sharing their positive EV experiences with people driving internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, who had stopped at the charging bank to ask questions. Tesla drivers, does that happen to you often? Tesla or not, there's a lot of fun (and savings) to be had with an #EV. If you're curious, I'd encourage you to ask questions. If I can help, please don't hesitate to reach out. Keep in mind, the average price of a new ICE vehicle is around $48k. Despite the common narrative around EV affordability, you can get into many EV's and PHEV's for significantly less than that number (including this Model 3), and the used EV market is starting to grow. Whether you buy one or not, if approach the idea with an open mind, you may just have some fun.

NY State is making it very financially attractive to dip your toe in the water of workplace #EV charging. Surveys continue to show that offering EV charging to employees boosts #Recruiting and #retention of top talent, helps your business with sustainability goals, and can even generate revenue from previously dormant parking spaces - from universities and hospitals, to offices and factories, your workplace may be eligible. Interested? Let's have a risk free conversation. #EVCharging #electricvehicles cc: @nationalgridus @NYSERDA

"Under the Inflation Reduction Act.....buyers can transfer the credits to dealers, which can apply them at the point of sale starting Jan. 1." In addition to the $7500 credit for new vehicles, you can get up to a $4000 credit on used vehicles! Huge news! apnews.com/article/electr…

@BuffaloveMom I think the more appropriate question is "What's going on at Walmart?" Olean is a great place to #shopsmall, and shouldn't take the hit for a big box post. In fairness to them, it looks like someone tried to do something nice for the kids. It just didn't execute at peak.

Update: Almost 14 months in, here are the numbers. For comparison, an internal combustion engine getting 20mpg would cost around $0.22/mile under the same conditions, triple the per mile cost of "fuel" while driving the Volt. cc: @SecretaryPete @GM @ENERGY

1/ Lots of talk about the true cost of owning an #EV lately, so I thought I'd share some real data 2 months into owning one. No politics. I got a 2018 @chevrolet Volt, with 13k mi. on it, for $25k all-in. Add $1400 for a 240v outlet install, and $200 for a portable L2 charger.

@JohnRichter1 Hi John, thanks for reading. I'm actually not a politician, and I don't benefit personally from this post. I'm a business consultant, posting a PSA to help get the word out to businesses about these incentives. No matter my feelings on the law, the rebates are beneficial now.

@adamfjester I suspect you're a thief investing in manipulating the people of NY out of their money and placing it into your pocket. Like every other politician. At some point you're going to take too much from them.

There are big changes coming to the energy landscape in NY State. The NYS Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) brings with it new regulations that, starting in 2025, will prohibit new natural gas service installation in new and existing buildings for example -

The NYS CLCPA was signed by @andrewcuomo as Senate Bill S6599 during the 2019-2020 session. Additional info on how much of a lift this will be: 71% of heating in NYS is currently nat gas, and we'd need a grid 4x the size of current to convert to and sustain that on electric,
