Oggi il mio pensiero va a lui. A Nathan. A quel padre rimasto da solo nella casa nel bosco, qualche ora dopo che la sua famiglia gli è stata portata via. L’hanno intervistato verso mezzanotte, nel buio e nel silenzio degli alberi. E in quegli occhi ho visto qualcosa che non si può fingere: la dignità di chi soffre con la schiena dritta. Ha detto una frase che non può lasciare indifferenti: “Mi sento vuoto, è come se avessero portato via una parte della mia vita.” E poi ha aggiunto che i bambini ora sono tristi e traumatizzati, manifestando un dolore che non ha bisogno di retorica. In tutto questo, fa male una sensazione: quella di un padre considerato superfluo. Come se il suo ruolo fosse secondario. Come se l’affetto che dà non fosse parte essenziale dell’equilibrio dei figli. È una ferita che brucia. Perché quando si toglie a dei bambini il padre, o alla famiglia la figura maschile di riferimento, si spezza qualcosa che nessuna struttura protetta può sostituire. Hanno inevitabilmente distrutto un nucleo. Una storia. Una quotidianità. Una forma di amore che aveva il suo ritmo, i suoi riti, i suoi limiti e le sue meraviglie. Eppure, dentro questo buio, io continuo a sperarlo: che qualcosa possa ricomporsi. Che una via si apra. Che questa famiglia, in un modo o nell’altro, possa ritrovarsi. Magari altrove, lontano dall’Italia. Magari lontano da un sistema che non ha saputo comprenderli. Magari in un luogo dove la loro idea di vita non venga guardata come un’anomalia, ma come una scelta possibile. Sul piano legale ci sono dieci giorni per impugnare il provvedimento. Dieci giorni che possono valere un destino. Dieci giorni che possono restituire respiro, o almeno una possibilità. Nel frattempo resta l’immagine di Nathan nel bosco. Solo. Vuoto. Con un dolore composto, quasi sacro. Il dolore di un padre a cui hanno portato via i figli. E che, nonostante tutto, continua a sperare. Perché quando ami, non puoi fare altro.
