@pkh7276_pkh @DavidNo93 @Truth_matters20 Noahs trust in God came before being saved through the waters in the ark, so does our trust in Christ come before our public baptism. (unless you were baptized as an infant, which is a different conversation)

@pkh7276_pkh @DavidNo93 @Truth_matters20 That verse in context is referencing the ark and the flood. it wasn't simply the ark alone that saved, it was Noah's trust in God and his obedience that was the reason they were saved. Baptism symbolizes our salvation. The moment we trust in Jesus and what He did, we are saved.

Most people don't understand this. Grace is no longer grace if any human effort is required to achieve it. Even faith itself is a gift of God.

@Tyler_King40 @crazyskillet @BookMormonBrah @oliverburdick Jesus is "The Truth". And the Bible is the truth, it is the word of God. When it comes to doctrine, the bible is our source of truth and veracity. Mormonism and the book of Mormon claims its foundations are biblical, yet it undermines the Bible's reliability.

@andybcvi @Tyler_King40 @BookMormonBrah @oliverburdick Of course I believe in truth. And I would advise you to not listen to people that lie about our religion, just ask us directly. Not sure what you mean by standard of faith, but we have faith in Jesus Christ. Sounds like you don't know our doctrine enough to call it problematic.

My honest reaction when I see people attacking the Book of Mormon on archeology.

@Tyler_King40 @BookMormonBrah @oliverburdick I know that it fails to measure up to the Bible, and to known history & archaeology. its prophets failed, and its teachings don't adhere to the faith of the earliest Christian believers. mormon doctrine is also built on things beyond the bible or book of mormon as its authority.

@DavidNo93 @pkh7276_pkh @Truth_matters20 "buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead." I don't disagree with the verse. I think baptism is important, a command from Christ. I believe it is a demonstration of our salvation.

@crazyskillet @Tyler_King40 @BookMormonBrah @oliverburdick Do you believe in truth? what is the standard we base our faith in? I was raised a JW. they also have made false prophecies through their history. to me, both religions have equally problematic history and doctrine. I do believe in freedom of belief, but, I also believe in truth

@BrotherGreen13 With the Bible, we have exact locations we can examine, dig, and investigate what the Bible says about those places. With the book of Mormon, we have nothing outside the Book of Mormon that verifies any location or place, or people that it describes.

@BrotherGreen13 and the idea of Jesus coming to North America before his earthly ministry in Israel is equally hard to believe. In fact, theres really no reason to believe it. And all the tests the LDS have done genealogically of N.A ancestry hasn't proven their teachings.

@DavidNo93 @Truth_matters20 trusting or believing in Him or anything isn't considered a work scripturally, that's a choice, and a very important choice. but its the work that Jesus did on the cross that saves. nothing we can do. theres no good deeds we can do to be saved.

@BookMormonBrah @Tyler_King40 @oliverburdick you'll have to forgive me, I'm not an expert on Mormonism. "because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son". The Bible clearly says Jesus is the Son of God, though they are one

@BookMormonBrah @Tyler_King40 @oliverburdick Thanks for the correction. In regards to one God, the Book of Mormon itself would affirm one God, as the Bible does. However the Book of Mormon also says Jesus is the Father, (Mosiah 15:1–5), compared to 2 John 3.

@xagreat He met the risen Jesus, supernaturally. I suppose one can choose to believe that or not, but, the record of Paul's life after this experience would indicate a true experience.

@DanMUrgo17 @oliverburdick that's where we disagree. And I've never seen any biblical support to support that doctrine. Wherever 2 or more are gathered in Christ's name, He is there. Any saved, baptized believer can share the Lord's meal. It's not a special right or privilege for only certain christians.
