Great to join health workers and partners at the national polio campaign in #Chad today, which aims at vaccinating children across the country. It’s a concerted effort by countries in the region to push to #EndPolio once and for all.

Today I heard heartbreaking stories from refugees & returnees in eastern #Chad, who have fled horrific violence in #Sudan. UNICEF & partners are supporting the Government’s response & the generosity of host communities, who themselves have very little. But needs are growing.

Have just arrived to Chad and looking forward to meeting with children and families to learn more about the issues that confront children here, and to continue our work with the Government to deliver on our shared goal of furthering the lives of all children in Chad.

In Chad, the Tasdjil system — a digital application — is making birth registration simple for mothers like Aicha. Available to all children, including refugees, this application is paving the way to a legal identity #ForEveryChild. unicef.org/chad/stories/k…

At Iridimi camp in eastern Chad, Sudanese refugees who fled the attack on Zam Zam camp in North Darfur received essential household items. @UNICEF provided 1,750 families with kits containing cooking utensils, mosquito nets, mats, buckets, cups, and more. Thanks to @StateDept 🇺🇸
