Games Workshop looked at 40 years of Warhammer 40K lore, decided it was wrong, rewrote it, and told the community it had always been that way. The community responded by not buying a single box of the new female Custodes range. Not one. Three weeks after pre-order. Zero units on the Sagittarum. A handful on everything else. Sisters of Battle have existed since 1991. Female warriors sell in 40K when they're written into the universe instead of forced into it by retroactively declaring four decades of codices to be lies. GW didn't add female Custodes. It told you that you were wrong for remembering what you read. The shelves are still full. The community gave its answer. This is what happens when a company decides its customers need to be educated rather than served. Which franchise gets the same treatment next?
