@Nithya_Shrii But instead of paying for cloud storage we can use that money to buy external disks

If you want to buy a new computer and you’re waiting for prices to go down, you should probably stop waiting and just buy it now. It’s gonna get worse before it gets better.

@endermanch I was thinking about the same problem some years back. One possible solution could be encouraging people to use p2p services like VoIP or video calls as much as possible, therefore it won't be feasible to blacklist every unknown IP.

Important! The global Internet is dying. Today I want to talk a bit about largely internationally unrecognized phenomenon called «whitelists» and what the international community needs to prepare for in the future, since the precedent has been set by 🇨🇳China and 🇷🇺Russia.

How To Prompt

Twilio charges $0.0079 per SMS. a Russian dev open-sourced a tool that turns any old Android phone into a free SMS gateway. it's called SMS Gateway. Install it on old phone, and it sends real SMS through your actual SIM card. → no Twilio. no per-message fees. → uses your existing SIM and carrier plan → full REST API + webhooks → 4.5k stars. Apache 2.0 → run it locally or via free cloud relay. 100% Open Source.

@Itsfoss Because they're malicious, why else. This is why I like GrapheneOS which feeds these bastards garbage data while pretending to give them all the permissions they ask for. Honestly I'd literally flag this app as suspicious in Play Store.

I don't understand why many Android apps ask for permissions that don't relate to them. The official solar usage monitoring app wants to record audio. What kind of solar generation measurement will it do by recording audio on my phone? If I deny permission, the app won't open. And this creates a problem. To use he app, I must consent even if i don't want to. What do you do in such cases?

@piyush_trades Airtel made more profits than Jio? That's quite surprising 😮

Jio made a net profit of ₹30,000 crores, and Airtel made a net profit of ₹38,000 crores last year. That comes to an average of ₹185 crores extracted per day from Indians in profit (not revenue). There’s nothing wrong with making profits, but raising plan prices even after making such huge profits is not morally right. These companies must be forced by the govt to offer plans with 0.5 GB/day, 1 GB/day, and voice-only options. In the current duopoly, both companies are in a race to see who can extract more from Indians. The govt needs to wake up from its deep sleep and strengthen BSNL to restore healthy competition. In today’s age, the internet is a human right, and forcing people to pay more for something they need less of is no less than a crime.

Every time someone in India loads a website, the DNS query routes to a root server in the US to get resolved. One of the world's largest internet populations has zero root server clusters of its own - and India is now pushing ICANN to change that. - MeitY wants a root server cluster in India for the first time - ICANN runs clusters in Singapore, Europe, the US, Egypt and Kenya, none in India - India could get 18 servers mirroring all 13 root servers that underpin the internet - In-country servers cut DNS latency and let ISPs contain cyber attacks at the gateway good move swarajyamag.com/news-brief/ind…

India must have freemiun sovereign equivalent platforms for: 1. Mail 2. X 3. LinkedIn 4. Facebook 5. Instagram 6. WhatsApp (hoping Atattai would be fully geared up by this year end) 7. Wikipedia 8. Blog They should be funded by taxing global platforms.
