@yenkel Gotcha - looking fwd to tomorrow! A sample use case that would be cool to see: I have an CS LLM that uses Slack chats. How can I use Auth0 to simplify the querying all the Slack permission semantics (orgs, channels, etc) and their implications to show the user the right data?

for 2 this is consent for third party APIs (so you login to one app, the GenAI app, but get an access token for another resource server). so the access token is user bound and it is on the API to reply with the right data #L79" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/auth0-lab/mark… for 4 it is typically a first party DB and you filter based on permissions your system is aware of #L25" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/auth0-lab/mark… I am planning to do a deep dive thread of demo.auth0.ai tomorrow to share more details

We announced a new upcoming @auth0 product for devs building apps with GenAI: Auth for GenAI 🤖 It will help devs secure their GenAI apps, with the developer experience @auth0 is known for Why are we building it? How does it work? 🧵

@yenkel 2 and 4 seem related - it's an authz challenge to query an API with the correct permissions, then display the correct information back to that specific user. How will you handle the app-specific nuances eg Slack? Are you building direct integrations like Glean?

4️⃣ Authorization for RAG GenAI apps use RAG to make relevant data available to LLMs for replies To avoid disclosing sensitive information, it is paramount to ensure that the content used to generate answers is content each user can access And Auth for GenAI will make it easy

It's very, very very close. But Harris does currently lead by 1 or more points in enough states to tally 276 electoral votes (Blue Wall + Nevada).

@bhalligan I don't think he was necessarily "wrong" with d2c. It's akin to Disney - you need to marry a distribution strategy with strong content (merchandise that people want). Think he failed with the latter.

John Donahue is out as Nike’s CEO. I’m sure there’s lots of reasons, but one of his bets that I thought would really work ended up flopping. He bet that they could go direct to consumers, disintermediating the middle man. I thought that would work as folks were loyal to the brand, not the local Foot Locker. Foot Locker et al didn’t add much value either. Thoughts on what happened re the channel?

@ECaliberSeven I did a similar analysis here in late July, but started with Cook's Toss-Up Seats as the initial filter. Column H has the fundraising numbers (per OpenSecrets), and I also triangulated with Oath. Curious to see what you think! #gid=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

Recently, some folks have asked me where donations would best help Dems flip the House. IMO, there exist clear answers: four Dem challengers in Tossup races with MUCH less $$$ than their GOP opponents: 1. Marlinga (MI-10) 2. Tran (CA-45) 3. Shah (AZ-01) 4. Bynum (OR-05)

@aashaysanghvi_ I guess I’d ask: are the heuristics predictive of success?

Furthermore -- founder-driven heuristics over market-driven heuristics are rather unsatisfying in an investment committee.

Some @haystackvc news: we are proud to announce Haystack VII, a $75M fund designed to support founders at the earliest stages. The landscape around us changes, but we remain committed to seed & early stage investing with a focused, yet flexible approach.

Turns out we’re both weirdos with a thing for authorization. 🙃 So excited to have a legend in the Authentication space on board supporting @abbeylabsSF
Jon Oberheide@jonoberheide

Nothing gets me more excited than Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP). Yes, I may be a weirdo, but turns out it's pretty important...and @abbeylabsSF Labs is making this historically-challenged space of auth-z quite a bit easier. Congrats @arvilmit and team on the seed round!

There’s probably a lesson here on what not to do as a founder when sitting next to an amazing investor for 3 hours at dinner, but it all worked out! Excited to be partnering with the Haystack team!

Earlier this year, we had another baby. Going from 1 ➡ 2 kids feels: • Emotionally easier (less scary) • Logistically more complex (more chaos) We have more confidence in our ability to improvise. But there are fewer hands / eyes / ears to go around. thefirejar.com/parenting-thou…

@finn_meeks I've done this...except it was the David Bowie movie, and we were confused as to why it was taking so long to see Billy Eichner (in Bros). Verrrrry different.

The contemporary web change that upsets me the most is how bad the login form experience has become. Often two page loads for a password and session times of 24 hours are common. Also “magic links” so I have to wait for an email now sometimes. Just awful. (SSO a large issue)
