My whole point is that those who actually understand economics are not usually the same people who know how to code. Proof-by-launch likely excludes those who know how to build real DeFi.

Bitcoin and Cardano got TWO amazing announcements this week from @CharmsDev and @FluidTokens. But let's be clear: NEITHER included "trustless bitcoin on Cardano." Charms integrated Cardano with the Charms protocol, and sent BRO + eBTC to Cardano as a feature of that. eBTC is secure and decentralized, but it is *not* trustless. It's a wrapped form of BTC, and there is a trust assumption (albeit a reliable one) which is ICP. FluidTokens demonstrated the first atomic swap between BTC and ADA - a classic technology for P2P asset swaps between UTXO chains. This was indeed trustless, but it is *not* bitcoin on Cardano. It's still BTC on Bitcoin, and ADA on Cardano. The innovation continues, our endless March towards perfection. 🟠🔵

@effectfully @clarkalesna @IOGroup @saibdev @dotnet And for this UPLC JIT compilation – I was just curious if it's even possible to do 😅 – compile UPLC to lambda in runtime and let JVM to do its magic. Apparently it is, and it works like a charm 😁

Huge respect to @IOGroup engineers and @effectfully but super crazy performance from @atlanter with Scalus Need to optimize @saibdev @dotnet tooling to get it the to the same level as the Haskell tooling 🫡🫡🫡

🚨BREAKING: @Ledger researchers have identified a vulnerability in Android phones using MediaTek processors that could allow an attacker with physical access to extract a device’s PIN and crypto wallet seed phrases in under a minute. In a proof of concept test, Ledger’s Donjon research unit was able to recover sensitive data from several wallet apps, including @TrustWallet, Kraken Wallet, and @phantom, by exploiting a weakness in MediaTek’s secure boot chain. @effectfully @clarkalesna @IOGroup @saibdev @dotnet It doesn't matter. Failed transactions spend collateral based on their success fee (budget) * collateral percentage, so the actual spent budget is irrelevant. We even halt earlier, which is nice. And for success we get the same result.

Clark created an awesome benchmark of CEK machines! TLDR: @Scalus3 is fast.

@effectfully @clarkalesna @IOGroup @saibdev @dotnet We load UPLC and generate Scala->JVM bytecode from it at runtime. Then JVM JIT-compiles that to machine code, effectfully JIT compiling the actual UPLC script to machine code. This is fast. And cool.
