when the codex $200 plan came out it was advertised as “unlimited use subject to abuse guardrails”. and at the time it was true
now we’ve powercreeped so much that 5.5 xhigh fast in goal mode can burn the whole thing in one day, off of one prompt

ya i think codex compaction has definitely regressed this is terrible for me because my workflow uses very long threads that run for days / weeks
now after about a day the compaction causes it to get really slow and stops doing all the things i expect

Many times in a day, Codex randomly gets stuck compacting the context. For several minutes.

Alert: everyone who sees their useage on Codex drained, Disable memories in the experimental.
Aparently it runs backroung process and drains your usage.

@HackingDave I'm down to paying for codex with credits at $1k a day since my week is up and I can't bring myself to trust this work with Claude. It's not worth wasting a day even trying.

Haven’t tested. Probably won’t. Company nerfed their 4.6 model to oblivion without telling folks for months. Hard to gain trust when you degrade your model and then launch hype commercials with Mythos.

@argofowl Codex being flaky is brutal because when compaction breaks, the whole agent workflow turns into archaeology. Reliability is the feature now.

The best learning was creating a goal that's now allowed to call STOP_GOAL. So this basically runs until your codex subscription runs out of weekly limits.
