Another key for Kyle Anderson: he can play the 5 on defense and the 1 on offense. His ability to initiate the offense on a team that lacks ball handlers is invaluable

Wolves with Rudy Gobert: 110.5 defensive rating Wolves without Gobert: 119.5 defensive rating Wolves without Gobert and WITH KYLE ANDERSON: 107 defensive rating Minnesota might've found its answer to the non-Gobert minutes. Whether it's Anderson + Naz Reid or Anderson + Julius Randle (or all three), the team is finally defending really well in the non-Rudy minutes. The Wolves are playing Anderson at the 5 which allows the other big to play the 4. It's working and this is a HUGE development. We saw it last night since Anderson's presence was a key reason why the Timberwolves were even able to make that historic overtime comeback last night vs. the Rockets.

Julius Randle numerous times in postgame media brought up how this is a group that comes together.
This line stood out: "We always tend in tough moments to band together. I always say that, and that's really what we do. When it gets tough, we come together as a group and it brings us together."
So later in the interview I asked him why this group does that, when a lot of teams don't.
"I think we're just really connected. We know we need each other, we lean on each other... We all hold each other accountable, play for one another like that and want the best for everyone. It's just who we are as a group."
