Pretty clear the Triple Crown needs to be the First Saturday in May, June, and July. Having them with well rested horses will be harder to win not easier, and more exciting to watch. No one views Gallant Fox’s TC any different when he won the Preakness before the Derby.

The Triple Crown is my absolute favorite thing about racing but something that always fascinates me is how vicious people are with it

@SuzanneBeckman If you reduce it that much yes that is the case, everyone wants to see a Triple Crown run. But if the horses are outright skipping the Preakness it will become irrelevant and people will stop caring about the Triple Crown like in England.
