@grok @zerocoolspain @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk Is it ok for manufacturer to take away 8k€ paid for feature because they don’t like the car mod you added to the car then? The traffic lights features is gone and it was paid for
English

In the thread, only FSD features were disabled—no other systems. Specifically, Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control (the key paid add-on from your €8k package) got revoked, reverting you to basic Autopilot. The car still shows "FSD included" but the internal flag blocks it.
The CAN bus hack you used to enable it isn't legal under Tesla's terms or EU rules—FSD Supervised is in final approval stages (RDW Netherlands, expected rollout 2026) and wasn't authorized for bypass in unsupported regions yet.
You lost the features because Tesla detected the unauthorized device during a remote check and enforced their software license policy. It's standard for them on hacks, not just overreach.
English

Who do I ask for FSD package refund? I paid 8k EUR extra during my car purchase for traffic aware cruise control, and this was now stolen away from me. I would like the refund please. @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk It's my car, I do not want to update it
English

@zerocoolspain @grok @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk Hey @grok can you summarise what was removed on top of FSD and was this legal to use in EU? Did the user lost the paid for feature because of overzealous manufacturer?
English

Well, whatever... You can keep comparing whatever you want to justify yourself.
The FSD is ILLEGAL to be active in the EU, and you activated it. That's a hack of the FSD system, and they've blocked your FSD. Accept the consequences!
If you remove the DPF filter from your Audi and it causes a mechanical problem, you'll lose your warranty for the consequences.
You did something with the FSD, and they removed it. They didn't remove something else; they removed EXACTLY what you modified.
But you keep insisting on comparing that you do X and they remove Y to justify yourself...
Remember: You did X, and they removed X! They didn't remove something else that has nothing to do with it; they removed exactly what you touched.
I'm stopping here because it's like talking to a brick wall, full of pride and a lack of intelligence.
English

@zerocoolspain @grok @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk I did X and they removed X and B! That’s the problem. The B is the problem. How can you be that dumb lol
English

@zerocoolspain @grok @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk Removing DPF is illegal, how are you missing this point? Do you need better glasses?
English

I don’t mind they plugging it. They did. But if they would be forced to brick the car fully to disable it without OTA update would that be fine? No? What if they would have to disable climate te controls? Still not fine? Then what features are fine to remove? 8k extra paid feature of basic autopilot traffic light awareness is fine to remove but bricking whole car not? What about just disabling half of speakers? Fine or not? What about a single speaker? Should they disable heated seats?
Please list me where you draw a line what they are ok to disable to make sure this is plugged. Between total car bricking to disabling internal LEDs where is ok and where not? Truly asking no joke
English

@bartosz You’re mixing things up. If there’s a security loophole, Tesla is right to disable related features until you update. That’s standard for safety-critical systems.
If it’s truly a legal paid feature, update it and it should return. Refusing to update doesn’t make sense to me.
English

So let me get this straight. You used a third-party device to exploit a software loophole. Tesla fixed it and asks you to update, disabling FSD until you do. And now you're complaining because you refuse to update? That doesn’t really hold up.
Bartosz Hernas@bartosz
Who do I ask for FSD package refund? I paid 8k EUR extra during my car purchase for traffic aware cruise control, and this was now stolen away from me. I would like the refund please. @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk It's my car, I do not want to update it
English

@kristi_ivanenco No, I Lost paid for a legal feature of Traffic Lights awarness. This is and was legal in EU and I paid for that and it’s gone now. Is this ok? Because they don’t like device I put in my own car?
English

@bartosz because the CAN exploit scans for the Trafic lights aware cruise control, they patched. Next update you will get it back. You had fun with FSD stop being a crying lil' bitch now and wait a few days and you'll get it back.
English

Imagine if Audi would do “we don’t like the new suspension/exhaust” you added so we disabled your climate control that you paid for.
I paid for FSD, I put third party mod on a thing (car) that I own. Tesla doesn’t like it so now 8k€ spent on FSD (in EU it means traffic lights aware cruise control) was disabled.
What’s next @elonmusk ? We don’t like you speeding, we took your Boost package? We don’t like the wrap you put on the car, auto park was disabled for your car.
Can I get refund of the FSD now please @teslaeurope ? I don’t want to update the car, it’s not safety you are worried about, do I own the car or do I not? Where do I send my bank account for the 8k€ refund since you disabled it? The car thinks I don’t have the FSD anymore yet my bank account is 8k € out of pocket.
Whole Mars Catalog@wholemars
the fun is over for people using FSD in Europe 😭
English

@RoquaiJamie Do you own the car fully? One is a diagnostic CANBUS device like Commander by @enhauto and the other is possibly illegal too loud no DPF exhaust system
How is installing any of this allows the manufacturer to take away legal and paid for features?
English

I didn’t do anything illegal. I can install fire place in my car and as long as I don’t drive it on the roads it’s nothing illegal about it. I them don’t want the manufacturer to disable remotely features because they do t like what I did.
If it’s legal or not it’s not their call. We have courts for that. Stop being a commie. There is a reason court system is here and police is here.
Also removing DPF filter is illegal. Are you saying that if Audi sees it removed they should be able to doable heated seats for example?
English

Are you comparing making LEGAL modifications with ILLEGAL modifications? Seriously?
Adding extra lights is NOT illegal, but hacking and activating a system whose use is ILLEGAL in the EU... IS illegal.
Keep trying to justify yourself if you want, but it's always better to be honest and accept that you simply got caught.
English

@biculica Sure but it’s worth a try. Maybe one in a hundred will try to understand real issue. 99 will just hear “FSD disabled ba ha” but that’s ok. I care about the 1% I can get to
English

@bartosz Wow, so many teslaboys here, sucking up to daddy musk. It's a cult, forget trying to explain them anything
English

How is that different? I am trying to show they did cross that line so they are willing to do so. Once they won’t like what you do with your car they can block anything. They just showed not only they can but they are willing to as well.
Regulatory workaround means OTA update which they did. Then they went and disabled legal paid for functionality
English

@bartosz 1/ The core complaint here is valid. But there should be repercussions to actions. Tesla quietly revoking paid features via the cloud sets a dangerous precedent for any software car.
But equating that to “they might limit power if you speed” actually weakens your argument.
English

So many people missing the point. Patching FSD loophole is fine and they did in 2026.8.6 but for people that didn’t update the car they marked the car config in cloud as “never owning legal traffic awareness cruise and not available FSD”
This took away a functionality that we paid 8k for and shows precedent of abuse. This functionality that was legal to use and is still being sold was just disabled to remove the loophole on old software.
Next time you are speeding, remember that if they don’t like it they will take away your front engine or horse power. They can and they showed they are willing to.
English

@zerocoolspain @grok @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk Pretty good summary. I paid 8k extra for legal functionality that now was taken away for me modifying my own car. How is that fair?
If they block your audio system for adding extra LED lights will you be content? Removing that device doesn’t bring back the things I paid for btw
English

Hi Grok, X user @bartosz says Tesla removed FSD without him hacking it; you can read the thread to see what's happening.
x.com/bartosz/status…
"Yes, I've read the entire thread by @bartosz (Bartosz Hernas) and the main comments. What exactly happened?
Bartosz bought a Tesla in Europe and paid an extra €8,000 for the FSD (Full Self-Driving) package. In Europe, true FSD (supervised autonomous driving) isn't officially approved, so what you actually get when you pay for FSD is mainly:
Enhanced Traffic-Aware Cruise Control
Autosteer
Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control
He used a third-party device ("CAN bus hack") that sends special messages over the car's CAN bus to unofficially unlock or activate FSD functions. It's the same type of mod used to disable the reversing beep, etc.
Tesla detected The device (likely when the car connected to the internet or received a remote update). In response, it remotely disabled the advanced FSD features in his car:
The screen still displays “FSD included,” but internally there’s a flag indicating that he doesn’t have the package. He specifically lost Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control (the feature he valued most out of the €8,000)"

Learn to read. They took away legal to use and the only thing that 8k purchase gave me which is traffic lights awarness. This was and is legal and they keep selling it. This was disabled remotely and taken away. How is that ok? If they disable your speakers remotely for using Commander are you saying this is fine?
English

@bartosz @teslaeurope @Tesla @elonmusk You tried to be a "cool guy" by activating the FSD hack, and you got caught just like everyone else. Now deal with the consequences and stop playing the victim.
English

Like Tesla taking away paid for and legal to use functionality from people? Traffic awarness that you charged 8k€ for gone with remote config change? Yeah, that would be big new story in the last for sure.
“Toyota remotely deactivated heated seats because people put custom exhaust on the car and it was too loins hence illegal”
Elon Musk@elonmusk
Yeah
English

@cybertruck Then why is FSD being locked away remotely for people in EU? Why are you becoming the judge and executioner of what’s legal or not? Next time max speed limit and no one can overspeed? Why not?
English

If remotely disabling FSD region unlock device without software update would require bricking the car completely I wonder what would Tesla shills say.
Since it only required removal of paid for and legal to use in EU feature of Traffic Lights Awareness and US people are too dumb to understand this was usable in EU, they ignore the issue. They only hear “FSD package” and “was not approved in EU” missing the whole point of “I lost something I paid 8k for and was able to use legally”.
The history was written. Next time Tesla blocks someone’s functionality like Boost taken away for over speeding maybe the eyes will open.
If this would be lack of climate control or any other more popular functionality I wonder if they would be so dense.
Sad to see such a blatant excusing of a trillion dollar company literally charging money for things while selling a car and then taking it away without repercussions. No OTA update, no negotiation. Just removing remotely 8k worth purchase. Legal in EU purchase.
I guess there is no line Tesla can cross for the blind fans to say “this is not ok”
It was a sad experience to learn that about the accounts I have followed and admired. I expected more. More wisdom, more logical thinking. I only saw blind following. Well. You learn everyday
@Teslarati @ZacksJerryRig @wholemars
Still no response from @teslaeurope and @tesla or @elonmusk about how is that even legal? @EUCouncil @EUCouncilPress what’s your opinion about charging for things and remotely disabling it without notice?
English

@chic_fella @p00chpee @OG91an @mrMDofficial Fully agree. Where is EU when manufacturers can do things like this? Ahh, working on bottle caps lmao
English

@bartosz @p00chpee @OG91an @mrMDofficial It's an absolute joke that they sell cars with software they can enable and disable remotely. The car is the car and no one other than you should be able to disable / modify its behavior. It's f'ing bullshit that should be illegal.
English

So are we saying FSD is safe or not? Is removing it increasing or decreasing safety?
Also, you missed the point. It’s not about FSD, this is fine that Tesla blocked the loophole in next OTA update. The problem is that they have remotely took away functionality that was fully legal and paid for (traffic lights awareness for basic AP). How is that fine? Next time they don’t like your wrap they will take away climate control? You think it’s fine. Sad
English

@monymounir @jeremybryce “You have an iPhone, it has two cameras. You jailbroken it and now it doesn’t make camera sounds in South Korea (where it’s illegal). Now Apple fixes the jailbreak in future update, but you skip it. To avoid liability Apple block your camera and your LTE connection remotely.”
English

@bartosz @jeremybryce You have a car that gets you from A to B. The manufacturer also added functionality that it is legally responsible for, where you can sue them if things go wrong. Like when a car flips.
To avoid being responsible for risks from unauthorized changes, some functionality is limited
