To celebrate Darwin's birth anniversary we invited Dr. Samrat Mondol, a prestigious conservation biologist at @wii_india . His talk "Tale of the ‘Unicorns' " discussed about the Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros and the conservation challenges faced to protect them."

On Darwin day, we are hosting Dr. Samrat Mondol to give a special lecture on: "Tale of the ‘Unicorns’: multidisciplinary efforts to understand species biology and conservation challenges of the Greater One-horned rhinoceros" Join us in celebrating darwin's legacy together.

We would like to thank Prof. Manjari Jain @minivets and Prof. N.G.Prasad @NGPrasadevo for their help in organising this talk and for their continuous guidance.

To start off our annual flagship week- Darwin Week, we hosted Dr. Rajat Bhargava, a senior ornithologist, conservationist and the former assistant director of @BNHSIndia . His talk - "Prescribing extinction or preventing extinction" was enlightening and completely brilliant.

Recently judged the “Petridish Picasso” painting competition organized by @bdf_iiserm. Wonderful fusion of art and science as our undergrad students painted stunning designs using bacteria on Petri dishes! @IiserMohali @DBS_IISERM

As a part of Darwin Week's celebration, BDF and IISER Mohali Movie Club screened the timeless classic, 'Inherit the Wind' (1960). This film follows a high school teacher convicted for teaching Darwinism, sparking an intense courtroom battle over science and belief.

The third edition of Darwin Week special 'GET A LIFE' quiz was held in collaboration with IMQC on 12th Feb, hosted by Ahir and Aaryak. Thanks to all the participants and congrats to the winners :)
