I’ve been a registered Republican for seven months. I travel across Colorado for my work, and despite it being a Democrat-dominated state, I see that a majority of Coloradans (including a significant number of gays), align on the actual issues with a conservative platform. Where the GOP has failed, and the Democrats continue to succeed, is on identity politics and “guilt by association” branding. I meet people every day who are fundamentally conservative but will not consider voting Republican because they’ve been convinced by an onslaught of Democrat propaganda that doing so would associate themselves with “pedophiles” or “racists” or “anti-progressives.” So out of social shame and conformist pressure to be viewed as “nice,” they vote for the Democrats and their destructive policies. The @GOP needs to develop a smart, targeted marketing campaign on social media that interviews diverse Republicans and independents about why they are conservative. Why is the Republican Party asleep at the wheel on marketing (and so many other issues like the SAVE act)?

The replies to this are mind blowing. When I started working, it was basic training that you take care of attending to basic hygiene. That includes deodorant even if it is a sweet smell. Fact is, a workplace should be bland and inoffensive. Have I become a grumpy old man?

I didn’t personally request anything from them. I understand things happen all the time, but I thought basic customer service 101 would prevail since they let me pay for something they don’t actually offer and what’s being given in return is not what I paid for. I can’t do the refund option because prices today are double…and they know that.

So @AmericanAir cancels our honeymoon flights, stops servicing our destination airport from JFK, and rebooks us on a new flight to a connecting city adding 8 hours of travel time. Paid for nonstop flights, but American can’t provide that anymore for some reason. Can’t get a refund and book elsewhere because prices have doubled since we originally booked. Customer service was horrific, but “rest assured”, they hear me 😂 absolute joke

i don't know why "robot that folds laundry" is such a pervasive idea it takes a maybe 15 minutes to fold laundry, or i can take my laundry to a laundromat and get it washed and folded for $1.50/lb it's just not a big enough chore to justify an expensive purchase like a robot!

@AmericanAir I paid for a nonstop flight, you can’t provide that anymore, although you let me pay for it. As mentioned, I lose money if I get a refund and rebook today. This is what people should expect when booking with @AmericanAir ?

Power Banks on airplanes worry me the most. Never pack them in a checked bag. The cargo compartment has a fire detection system, and a gas fire suppression system (like halon, but I don’t recall if that’s it). Still, we can’t get into it in flight to fight a fire. For carry on, pack it where it’s easily accessible. The idea will be to remove it & put it in a “fire bag” which are pretty effective at containing battery fires. That’s harder to do if you’ve packed it beneath a bunch of stuff that may now also be on fire. If you drop your phone in the seat & can’t find it, do NOT move your seat. You may crunch the phone & ignite the battery. Ask a Flight Attendant for assistance. A cabin fire is at the top of most of our worst nightmares. The Oxygen masks won’t drop – they don’t seal, so it won’t keep smoke out & now we’re feeding pure oxygen to a fire. We’ll be diverting immediately, but it will take time to get on the ground. If the smoke gets too bad, we can “dump” the cabin pressure if needed & clear it out pretty quickly, but that’s a last resort & wont work well below 10,000’ or so. I’ve been told China is starting to ban power banks on airplanes. We may eventually get to that point here. If you have to bring one, make sure it’s in good condition. If you have one of those suitcases with a built in battery, just be aware you’ll have to remove it before checking your bag. If it’s carry on, make sure you can get it out of the bag quickly if needed. Thank you & fly safe!

Donald Trump has been a national politician for a decade. Anyone still reacting to the guy’s negotiating tactics and hyperbole with this sort of hysteria ten years in should be disqualified from political commentary. If he nukes Tehran at 8pm, I’ll admit I’m the crazy one. When he doesn’t, this crew will admit nothing and find some other comment to be scandalized by.
