@Mrinal_MLA had no big meetings, no postering, no loud rallies, no big speech—yet what a remarkable way to campaign. Truly admirable. Khumtai is fortunate to have you. I only hope my new MLA takes a cue from this approach. Best wishes.

The Supreme Court has directed the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to take over the investigation into incidents arising out of the SIR process in West Bengal, particularly those involving obstruction and attacks on judicial officers. After perusing a sealed status report, the Court noted serious allegations against State officials, including the police, and permitted the NIA to register further FIRs if additional dimensions emerge. It ordered that all investigation reports be submitted before the NIA Court in Kolkata, while periodic updates must also be filed before the Supreme Court. The State police have been directed to hand over all materials and extend full logistical support, and individuals already arrested will be transferred to NIA custody for independent interrogation. Expressing strong displeasure, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant observed that there was no question of withdrawing Central forces in the State and termed the failure of the State machinery as absolutely livid. No question of withdrawing Central Forces. There is no question of withdrawing Central forces. The way things have happened, it’s absolutely livid; the way the State machinery has failed”, the Court said.
