Storytime! During my time at NIFT Hyderabad, there was an offer from a local salon chain. They were conducting final exams and needed volunteers for various hair services, giving the students real-life, on-the-job experience. The volunteers could get any service for FREE! Obviously, half of the college got haircuts, colored hair, or streaks done over the weekend. I had never tried synthetic substances on my hair before, so chose a dark brown shade, playing it safe in case I ended up looking funny. It turned out great! The color completely changed how I looked—or, rather, how I COULD look! Ever since then, my hair has never been without color—whether it’s global color, streaks, or keratin treatments. However, my last obsession of colouring hair burgundy shade was a huge flop. Paid a bomb, only for the color to fade in a week! I was left with blonde streaks, which, to be fair, didn’t look too bad. TL;DR – I came across @birdsofparadyes. Was a little apprehensive at first, but after reading a ton of reviews and chatting with a colleague who also colors her hair, I decided to give it a go. Scared but excited, I chose the Plum shade. Best decision ever! The color fades a little with every wash, and over the past three weeks, I’ve seen all shades of purple—loving every one of them. Daydreaming about the next shade already!
