When I look at the Illinois House, I see a body that looks like Illinois, and everyday, we’re working to deliver for Illinois. With this constitutional amendment to enshrine voting rights into our constitution, we’re showing that in the land of Lincoln, we still believe that a democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people must include all the people.

Heaven ushered in a hero of the faith last night as my Dad was welcomed home! Many will say sorry for your loss but the truth is he’s not lost, we know exactly where he is. He’s home. Forever! I asked him last week what he looked forward to most about Heaven, and he simply said, “Jesus.” He couldn’t wait to see Jesus face to face. Praise God that his wait is over. Death has been swallowed up in victory. He’s healed and whole now. So we don’t mourn as those with no hope. See you soon Dad!

I'm signing off now to bury my father tomorrow. Brigadier General James Emory Mace, Sr. was a real war hero. He died with shrapnel from Vietnam still lodged in his body. He deserves my full attention and so much more. The most decorated living graduate of The Citadel ever, when he was still with us. If you'd like to pay your respects, our family would be honored to have you, we are opening his service to the public: Summerall Chapel, The Citadel 171 Moultrie Street Charleston, SC 5:00 PM EDT tomorrow
