The weekend saw @NewtownAFC host brilliantly the FAW National Academi Festival.
A fantastic two day event with great quality on display.

@NickEvaBuild @johnmactravels @NewtownAFC encourage it (at the right time and in the right place) I think the pressure on players and managers at the very top level is actually what suppresses the entertainment.

@NickEvaBuild @johnmactravels I assume you're referring to the Elite level academies (Cat 1 / Cat 2) and not the academy of @NewtownAFC or at least I hope so anyways.
I would however like to go on record and disagree with you as I dont think we coach the flair out of players and in fact I personally actively

Young players are often told to support the ball carrier.
They are told to create an angle to be able to receive the ball.
They should position themselves to provide a passing option.
But look...

My personal opinion is something like mentioned above could have positive impacts on player development and encourage 'some' players to think before they just kick

Nothing worse than seeing matches played with adult goals on adult pitches at U13 because intermediate size pitches and goals not available; this gradual increase in pitch size and goal size is there for this very argument 2/2

In youth football (U14 and below) goals must be scored inside the box.
See way too many goals from "unrealistic" scenarios where the ball loops over the keepers head.
This validates shots from locations that usually do not go in at the older ages.

@AndyHardey @mattdanaher Teams out of possession may decide to avoid pressing and working on 1v1 defensive techniques and just create an extremely low block to stop entries into their box

@AndyHardey @mattdanaher Quite possibly it would impact on decision making but it could be a positive in possession as would stop players occasionally just kicking as hard as possible and hoping so that is a positive in possession. Out of possession however could have a negative impact on decision making
