@13_magpie@planetJoseph There is a school of thought that thinks mandating clergy report REDUCES the likelihood of confession, preventing intervention and perpetuating abuse.
Ultimately, I think mandating that clergy report is worth it, but it is not without tradeoffs.
I know many of you want it to be, but the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not a good church. It’s not even a good social organization. Worse, it’s more than Not Good, it’s often very bad. I don’t reach these conclusions lightly. It doesn’t pass the 13th AoF test.
@jlericson I can’t believe I never realized until today that the spam detection was always a community contribution. In retrospect I don’t know if that was laziness or greed, but it seems like one of many important things that should have received more official investment.
