I'm told it's now actually America First to want 600,000 chinese students here. I'm told it's now America First to believe we need more H-1B Indians because Americans are incompetent. I'm told I'm not a real supporter of the President because I want answers on Epstein. I'm told I'm a Nazi because I don't want Israeli influence in our government. Who is advocating for me in office? Virtually nobody. The average American is struggling to afford their groceries, power, insurance, rent, mortgage, car, gas, and child expenses. "Pulling ourselves up by the bootstraps" and giving somebody a firm handshake to secure the job doesn't do it anymore. Voting harder hasn't changed a thing. Working for what seems to be an Israeli propaganda organization must be nice for you, but the average American can't make hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars per year telling people their opinions on the internet. I'm tired of pretending that we just need to "trust the plan" and vote Republican. It's not working.

You have to reject this kind of doomerism. I have six kids. The idea that the American dream is dead forever and there's no way to fix anything and I'm supposed to just accept that and give up on my children's future is repulsive to me. I could never do that, and will never do it. The fight continues.

I don't have the best way to articulate it just yet (but Gellman-Amnesia is the closest concept I can think of). I don't think it's really possible to wield AI effectively unless you can do the work manually. So there's a disconnect between what the market wants today (intelligent automation) and what sets the next generation of workers up to take the reigns (time in the trenches doing the actual work).

As someone who listens to @theallinpod every now and then, I think @Jason actually has a pretty grounded take on how AI is impacting entry level roles compared to the other besties. For ~$7.12 in OpenAI credits I was able to audit a site with 4000+ pages for mentions of a sunset product, and determine what pages keep and update, what to kill AND have the reasoning justified. That would have been an upworker, intern, or new grad task just three years ago (and the reasoning would not have been as good). Feels dirty to say it, but my business doesn't really need that ground-and-pound new-grad keyboard labor anymore.

Yesterday I was reflecting why we have not seen retail interest in Bitcoin in 2025. My conclusion after reasoning about it: in 2025, if you are an investor and not yet into Bitcoin, it most likely means that you took a position against BTC instead of being BTC neutral (knowing that you don’t know) If you are Bitcoin skeptic, buying Bitcoin equals admitting to have been wrong on Bitcoin all along and that the uneducated on Bitcoin, while Bitcoiners have been always right. This admission trigger a level of intellectual humiliation that is both high and too big to cope at current price —> we need a higher price to have them bending the knee to Bitcoin, a price so high where the intellectual humiliatiol will still remain high, but the suffer of keeping missing out on Bitcoin will be a bigger pain, so that skeptics will decide for the leaser pain among the two: admit to have been wrong, bend the knee to Bitcoin and start buying Bitcoin.

The next time you hear someone use the term "fiat currency" and mean it unironically, just ignore them. They have no clue what they're talking about.
