Everything the left is doing right now is utterly redolent of pseudo-reality, which is a distortion of reality that's either crazy or purposed (or both—mostly crazy and driven by relatively few purposed individuals). This has generated negative trust in left mouthpieces, rightly.

This is mostly right but strikes me as it needing said that I don't think the left or the intelligentsia have the slightest idea how low institutional trust in anything coming from a left mouthpiece is now. Except in-network, the best heuristic is "the opposite of what they said"

On the phone call, Trump says there were 5,000 dead people who voted in Georgia. There were 2. When Raffensperger presses Trump on the 5,000 number, his crackpot lawyer says....get ready for this...that there are 5,000 voters who have the same name as someone who died recently.

Warning - It’s a mistake to assume these Republicans who are trying to overthrow the election are doing it for “political” reasons. Many (maybe most) are actually fine to dispense with democracy if that’s what is necessary to keep Republicans in office.

The prayer to open the 117th congress ended with “amen and a-woman.” Amen means “So Be It” in Latin. It isn’t a gendered word but that didn’t stop them from being insane. Is this what you voted for?

@ChrisMurphyCT He is not lying. In some cities and states more people did vote. It was listed on government website. Then changed when people called them on it. Your allegations of lies are only working on people who cannot be bothered to educate themselves. Please be better. America need you.

I'm listening to the whole phone call right now. It's sickening. He just lies and lies and lies. For instance, he insists that more people voted than are registered to vote in Detroit. I mean, he knows this is bonkers. He must. 670,000 people live in Detroit. 250,000 voted.

@ChrisMurphyCT I do not like that. But isnt all that info in public records. I mean when I canvas I get a list of everyone in my town with registered party and history of voting. Not exact history but dates and "hard dem" "soft rep" etc.

At the end of the call, the President of the United States repeatedly asks for access to voter data that he knows is barred to him by law. He wants access to the data through a quiet, back door agreement. That's a big deal in and of itself.
