What most global health programs get wrong in Uganda 🇺🇬: They design for communities, not with them. At @chpuga1 , we’ve supported 700+ teenage mothers, #AGYW & young people, and here’s what actually works: • Community ownership • Trust before intervention • Local leadership We’re just getting started. With support from our board leaders (Dr. Roopal & Ms. Clio), our #AGYW skilling center is getting set up at #KikondoLandingSite along RiverNile along the shores of lake victoria & in Bugembe town, within Jinja city. Over the period of 3 months, we have close to 50 AGYW trained in soft skills, basic computer skills & micro-business skills. HIV remains a leading health concern and challenge in our communitiesa ~Today we joined our partners @triumph_uganda for an important outreach in the Loco slums,in Jinja ~Bringing HIV prevention,testing, treatment and care information directly to the people who need it most.

What motivates you to serve your communities? My journey in community health at @chpuga1 started with seeing how lack of access to essential medicines, healthcare and the frequent self-medication affected people, especially those whose incomes were minimal or limited. We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our incredible community of supporters of Amani - Community Health Partners Uganda This month marks the official start of our very first AGYW (Adolescent Girls and Young Women) Skilling Center in Kikondo fishing community, Buikwe District, right along the River Nile in Uganda. This milestone has been made possible because of your generosity and belief in our mission. Over the next three months, we will bring together 50 young women from Jinja and Buikwe to equip them with practical, life-changing skills. The skills include computer literacy, tailoring, soft skills, financial literacy, business development, as well as literacy and numeracy. We are also integrating learning around gender equity and climate resilience, including recycling practices. Our goal is simple but powerful: to empower these young women with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to earn income, support their families, and invest in essential needs like education for their children. When young women are economically empowered, they are better able to make independent and informed decisions, reducing vulnerabilities that often expose them to multiple partners or increased risk of #HIV. For those already living with #HIV, this program offers a pathway to dignity and resilience, enabling them to meet their basic needs and care for their children with greater stability and hope. Beyond economic empowerment, we are equally excited about building confidence, agency, and a strong sense of belonging—because we know the social impact is just as transformative. We are glad to share with you a few photos of our first training center..from its original color to some new painting. Over the coming few days, it will fully be painted. We will be sharing a beautiful moments to share with you our program implementation progress & updates. Thank you for walking this journey with us. Harvest Money Expo 2026, Uganda's biggest annual Agricultural Exhibition, opened today at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, showcasing a variety of Agribusiness & connecting farmers to modern, profitable & sustainable Agriculture. The three day event, under the theme "Farming as a Business; Growth, Sustainability & Cooperations" is organized by the Vision Group, supported by several partners. Uganda AIDS Commission is a key partner in this event & the team is sharing updated information/messages on HIV response, supported by Human Diagnostics (U) Ltd, providing Oraquick HIV Self Test services. #EndAIDS2030Ug
