Republican national security hypocrisy : Do whatever we please (back channels with China, North Vietnam, Iran: accuse everyone else of lack of patriotism.) No wonder Trump could so easily take over GOP.

🚨 The guy on the left was arrested and convicted for illegally selling missiles to Iran during the Reagan Administration. The guy on the right is a Fox News "military analyst” who thinks Iran shouldn't have missiles. They're the same guy.

One big winner of the war in Iran is Russia. During it, the U.S. has lifted sanctions on Russian oil, even as Putin assists Iran. Now @POTUS may use the war as a pretext to withdraw from NATO--which would fulfill Putin's wildest dream. wsj.com/livecoverage/i…

So excited to read the AMAZING story of the Yale Law School graduate who turned down a lucrative career in Big Law, chose a life of purpose, converted to Catholicism and picked Saint Augustine as his patron saint – the same Augustine who, in The City of God, condemned Rome's elites for their decadence, their pride, and their worship of pleasure over principle. Everyone, learn from the PRINCIPLED James David Vance, the very embodiment of everything Saint Augustine believed in, who humbly decided to follow our great leader Donald J. Trump, repenting his earlier blasphemous references to a certain leader from the 1930s, walking the golden escalator, making the beautiful pilgrimage to our modern City of God, Mar-a-Lago. Has there ever been a man as upstanding, as principled, and as honorable as JD Vance? Available wherever golden statues are sold.
JD Vance@JDVance

I’ve been writing this book for a long time, and I’m honored to finally be able to share the full story with you all. Communion is about my personal journey and how I found my way back to faith. It will be available in June, but you can pre-order today: a.co/d/0cTpceI7

Let me tell you exactly what Fox figured out in 1993. Roger Ailes looked around and asked — who’s the threat? Not Bill Clinton, the threat is Hillary Clinton. They spent billions of dollars over decades destroying her narrative. By the time she ran for president 51% of the country had a negative opinion of her before she said a word on the campaign trail. That’s the playbook. Now ask yourself — where’s the threat today? California. The fourth largest economy in the world. Agriculture, Defense, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, AI. — which is literally the exportation of American culture globally. A politician coming out of California from the left could beat the right decisively. So what do you do? Spend billions destroying the narrative around California. Make it synonymous with crime and homelessness and radical politics. Do it for two or three decades until the brand is toxic. Newsom has an image problem today the exact same way Hillary had an image problem. It was manufactured. Deliberately. Systematically.

For Palm Sunday…
Michael Haynes 🇻🇦@MLJHaynes

JUST IN: Israeli Police prevented Cardinal Pizzaballa from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre today, as he went to say Mass. @LPJerusalem calls it a “grave precedent” which “constitutes a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure.” Full statement from @LPJerusalem below —— Joint Press Release The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land Holy City of Jerusalem Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026 This morning, the Israeli Police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Head of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, together with the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, OFM, the official Guardian of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, as they made their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday Mass. The two were stopped en route, while proceeding privately and without any characteristics of a procession or ceremonial act, and were compelled to turn back. As a result, and for the first time in centuries, the Heads of the Church were prevented from celebrating the Palm Sunday Mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This incident is a grave precedent, and disregard the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem. The Heads of the Churches have acted with full responsibility and, since the outset of the war, have complied with all imposed restrictions: public gatherings were cancelled, attendance was prohibited, and arrangements were made to broadcast the celebrations to hundreds of millions of faithful worldwide, who, during these days of Easter, turn their eyes to Jerusalem and to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Preventing the entry of the Cardinal and the Custos, who bear the highest ecclesiastical responsibility for the Catholic Church and the Holy Places, constitutes a manifestly unreasonable and grossly disproportionate measure. This hasty and fundamentally flawed decision, tainted by improper considerations, represents an extreme departure from basic principles of reasonableness, freedom of worship, and respect for the Status Quo. The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land express their profound sorrow to the Christian faithful in the Holy Land and throughout the world that prayer on one of the most sacred days of the Christian calendar has thus been prevented.

@BrendanCarrFCC @mehdirhasan "Short answer: this is a highly selective and partly misleading framing. Some elements are grounded in real events, but key claims are exaggerated, lack context, or are presented in a way that implies actions the FCC did not actually take." chatgpt.com/s/t_69c75a2486…

As a British MP I can tell you what “showing up” looks like. It looks like 457 British soldiers who died in Afghanistan. NATO has only ever gone to war for one country. Yours. The question isn’t whether NATO showed up, it’s whether we forgive you for pretending otherwise.
Department of State@StateDept

PRESIDENT TRUMP: NATO wasn’t there for us. We send billions of dollars to them every year to protect them. We would have always been there for them. But based on their actions, I guess we don’t have to be, do we? Why would we be there for them if they’re not there for us?

The president has done a remarkable amount of damage to the Constitutional order in a time of peace and prosperity, imagine what an aspiring autocrat could do in a time of genuine crisis. The times call for a generational effort to Caesar proof the Republic.

Fact checking fraud claims: Heritage Foundation documented 1,620 cases of voter fraud from 1982-2025, including 100 cases of noncitizens voting. That's about 0.000008% of more than 1.3 billion votes cast in presidential elections in that time. @YLindaQiu nytimes.com/2026/03/27/us/…

Important to note, the FCC Chairman himself is stating that CBS’s new ownership is “Trump winning.” That should deeply embarrass and offend CBS’s leadership. When the FCC Chair brags that you’re state TV for the Trump administration, a reassessment of one’s values is in order.
Acyn@Acyn

FCC Chair: Trump is winning. Look at the results—PBS and NPR defunded. Joy Reid, Sleepy-Eyed Chuck Todd, Jim Acosta, John Dickerson are gone. Colbert is leaving. CBS is under new ownership, and soon enough CNN will have new ownership as well.

Biden’s FCC did go after Fox. Biden’s FCC went after Sinclair broadcasting too. In fact, the Biden FCC failed to renew hundreds of routine licenses for that broadcaster — something that the agency had never done before. The Biden FCC also determined and wrote that broadcasters have a “obligation … to take all reasonable measures to eliminate any false, misleading, or deceptive matter.” At the same time, Democrats in Congress pressured cable companies to drop Fox News, OAN, and Newsmax for their newsroom decisions. And that pressure worked in many cases. Those were cable channels, too, that have no broadcast public interest obligations. Earlier, Democrats in Congress wrote the FCC and called on it to investigate the news activities of a conservative broadcaster, including under the FCC’s news distortion policy. Democrats also called on the FCC to block the sale of a radio station in Florida on the grounds that they thought the buyer was conservative, stating “To win in 2022, this must stop!” The sale didn’t go through. The list goes on and on and I have no doubt that it will go on and on again at some point in the future. Remind me - which one of these Democrat actions did you consider weaponization and push back on ?
