I am unreasonably excited about self-driving. It will be the first technology in many decades to visibly terraform outdoor physical spaces and way of life. Less parked cars. Less parking lots. Much greater safety for people in and out of cars. Less noise pollution. More space reclaimed for humans. Human brain cycles and attention capital freed up from “lane following” to other pursuits. Cheaper, faster, programmable delivery of physical items and goods. It won’t happen overnight but there will be the era before and the era after.

Being in nature is ESSENTIAL for humans = true wilderness, a place you cannot see or hear any cars, buildings, etc.. When we are divorced from nature we begin to go crazy. Get into the wilderness if life feels like too much, I promise you everything will make more sense there.

Well that was crazy. 7,000 new followers in last 24 hours. So, guess I’ll do a little intro for all the new folks. Hi 👋 - I’m an Entomologist. Worked for the “big O” pest company for 20 yrs - Promoted, demoted, promoted again, demoted, F ‘em, threw my keys on desk at 46 a few yrs ago - Been dabbling in RE since 2000 when I bought my first prop in Bonita Springs FL - Thought I was gonna be some big RE mogul by ‘05. Bought way too many “rental properties” in south Florida with those awesome Option ARM loans. 🤡🔫 - Lost all to Deed in Lieu’s, Short Sales and Foreclosures. - Ruined credit for 5-7 yrs. - Sat outside of a Walmart in Okeechobee FL in 2006 to score a PS3 to flip on EBay. Coincidentally, sat next to a school teacher for 36 hrs who told me he and his wife flipped toys and the extra money paid for their summer vacations, Christmas gifts and tons of birthdays. - Started a little EBay side hustle flipping hot toys. - Transitioned to Amazon and saw the business skyrocket - Watched half of my net worth evaporate with the stroke of a pen at my divorce in 2017 (divorce was my fault) - Kept hustling with my Amazon business, tip toed back into real estate in late 2019 with my first cabin in the smoky Mtns. - By ‘22, had 8 cabins and teamed up with a guy that showed me how to build my own. - One or two steps away from running the Big O Pest Company and got demoted. Biggest kick in the nuts of career. Quit. Learned that no one in your corporate job actually gives a sh*t about you. - Sold all but 1 STR by end of 22. Didn’t want sleepless nights like I had in ‘07/‘08. Decided to “take the money and run” when prices skyrocketed. - Started buying large land tracts in TN & NC in 22. Began building my own cabins. - Now build around 3-4 cabins a year. Some I sell, some I keep as rentals. - Breaking ground on a retreat center in the Smoky Mtns. Will be built on 50 acres of my land and while I preserve around 1,000 acres for hiking, ATV riding and getting back to nature. I’m NOT a big real estate developer that develops $100 million dollar projects. I don’t use leverage, I’ve got all the money I need to be happy. While the cabins I build are $1-$2 million cabins, I have no monetary need to put 50 of those on the side of a mountain and ruin Mother Nature. Money doesn’t really motivate me anymore, peace and serenity do. So, you’ll see bug posts, humorous posts, life’s ups and down posts, and quite a bit of real estate/land posts on my account. Enjoy.
