Wasn’t going to chime in on this, but some of the takes here are absolutely ridiculous. Gustavo is an individual, who is allowed to support whomever he wants even when they are not DSA endorsed. Just as Zohran is allowed to endorse Brad Lander without DSA endorsement, yet no one was calling for disciplining him in that moment (and rightly so). This does not undermine the democracy of DSA as it is not an organizational endorsement but a personal one. Further, DSA must realize that as long as it continues to platform and institutionalize its sectarian and abstentionist tendencies, it will force its members (as well as the masses more broadly) to seek other means to do socialism. It is not an individual’s fault that they must go outside DSA in order to do socialism, it’s OUR accountability as an organization to make sure that the path of socialism is 1:1 with the objectives and MO of DSA, and anything less will create reasons to engage other means of organizing to fill that void. We must fill the void left by marginal abstentionism with institutionalized mass politics in DSA or the socialist pole in this country will go on without us.

Tomorrow, the same DSA caucuses that voted to publicly sever ties with AOC are poised to strip 120,000+ DSA members of their right to vote on a candidate for president, and delay an endorsement decision to August 2027. Do we want to lead a socialist presidential campaign or not?

Good meeting with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham @LindseyGrahamSC in Kyiv. This is already his 10th visit to our country, and we appreciate this support. I'm grateful to Lindsey for recognizing our warriors. The stronger Ukraine is on the battlefield, the greater the chances that diplomacy will ultimately succeed. And right now, it is important that our long-range sanctions pressure on Russia be reinforced through new sanctions steps by our partners. Lindsey briefed me on the work underway in Congress on the relevant bill. We also discussed our urgent air defense needs to protect our people. During the NATO Summit in Ankara, President Trump and I reached political agreements on licensing the production of Patriots in Ukraine. It is now crucial to implement all of this at the team level. I thank the United States, the President, and Congress for bipartisan and consistent support from both chambers.

U.S. SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-SC) HAS DIED: STATEMENT

my contribution to the discourse: anyone saying convention mandates a 1m1v poll is misinformed or lying the resolution we passed mandates a poll “if a coalition that DSA is a member of decides to endorse a presidential candidate.” no such left-labor coalition even exists atm.

DSA should push for a constitutional amendment so naturalized citizens can run for President. Then we do what's so clearly in front of us: Zohran Mamdani / Melat Kiros ticket

I respect the MUG plan, but I think it’s overestimating how many people are actually going to run for DSA’s endorsement. It’s probably just going to be AOC, and people’s opinions will just be oriented around supporting or opposing her

People approach the question of AOC and a Presidential campaign inverted. She is already much more known and popular than our org, she is platforming us, we are USING her to grow the movement. In the absolute best case she wins two terms and is gone, the org and its growth remain
