The senate today. DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla getting into an altercation with Sen. Robin Padilla. Sad to watch. Shoving. Pushing. Supposedly trying to prevent individuals (including 18 marines) from entering the senate halls. Some questions here. Is it wise for the DILG to be here? What should’ve been the role of the Sgt At Arms in this situation? Yes, there is a power issue in the senate now but all senators & their guests are allowed to enter the premises freely. It is a co-equal branch of government. Your thoughts?

The Constitution is clear and does not leave room for interpretation. The Senate is composed of 24 Senators, and a majority of 13 constitutes a quorum to do business. 13 votes to constitute a quorum. 13 votes to elect officers. A void election cannot create valid authority.
