@BlueShieldCA is switching our co-founder's son to generic Stelara. No letter sent informing them of the change. They learned when calling the specialty pharmacy. They spent hours on hold, disconnected and transferred. No one ever called back. Hours of time with no help.

@aboutIBD Thank you Amber! Yes, we agree. It should be on a case by case basis. They DM’d us a gave an email address. It’s impossible to get in touch with anybody on the phone @BlueShieldCA Spent several hours this week getting hung up on and it’s not OK to treat people like this.

I kind of don't care what the evidence about biosimilars shows. Which is a wild thing for me to say. Because bouncing a medically complex person off their med and onto a biosimilar is a bad idea. Why take the chance? Insurance companies continue to make our lives chaotic. #IBD

@ICRicardoLara @BlueShieldCA my six-year-old patient has profuse rectal bleeding and was denied appropriate therapy by Blue Shield. I wrote an appeal letter, but can’t send it to Blue Shield by any conventional means.
