Senator Elizabeth Warren and more than four dozen Democratic lawmakers are renewing their push for a federal wealth tax aimed at ultra-high-net-worth households, reintroducing legislation that would apply annual levies to fortunes above $50 million. The proposal, the Ultra-Millionaire Tax Act of 2026, would impose a 2% annual tax on the net worth of households and trusts over $50 million, plus an additional 1% surtax on net worth above $1 billion, for a 3% top rate on billionaire wealth. The bill also includes a proposed 40% “exit tax” on people worth more than $50 million who renounce US citizenship, along with new IRS funding and other enforcement measures.

Love you Wendy, but lthis vid's claim? Patently false. House CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633, p.119) carves out devs. "A person shall not be subject to this Act... based on... Developing, publishing... a blockchain system or a decentralized finance trading protocol." Nodes, UIs, wallets, protocols no registration, no AML hammer. Senate drafts keep it. Not "no carve-outs"vit's explicit protection. Facts > FUD. Read the PDF. Stop simping for Brian he isn't on our side.

Don't believe the FUD-- we have worked on a bipartisan basis for the last few weeks to make changes to Title 3 that make this bill the strongest protection for DeFi and developers ever enacted. We have to pass the Clarity Act to get these protections.

But the draft also has provisions in Title 3 that undermine the BRCA and subject all sorts of non-custodial software developers to KYC obligations anyway. Those sections must be fixed or the bill doesn't work for DeFi. If the bill doesn't work for DeFi, it doesn't work at all.
