elon: My Plan B is a blockchain-based version of twitter, where the “tweets” are embedded in the transaction as memos on solana. So you’d have to pay maybe 0.1 SOL per comment or repost of that comment @alphadothaus

The bold move used to be dropping out of stanford to build a startup. Now, it's dropping out of a startup to build stanford.

My Mainstage Network State Conference Speech - link below to video: "I'm James, James of Ârc. I'm building the first permanent layer 2 at the Network School - I'm here to give you even more reasons to come and even more reasons to stay. I want to take you back to the beginning, though. I'm actually a chartered accountant. I started my career at Ernst & Young helping the world's largest companies and richest families negotiate with governments - to get better treatment, to relocate to where they’re treated best. I’m now building this layer 2 at Network School as a step towards building a new charter city - one where all of these companies will choose to relocate. Ârc started a year ago in Lisbon with an incredibly fun pop-up city. Then Austin. Each had ~50 long-term residents and a few hundred people at our hackathons and demo days. But while these were fun, they felt - maybe a little bit pointless. We realized we weren’t yet solving the problems that matter for something permanent. So I came to Network School in April, thinking I’d leave in April. Now it’s the longest I’ve been anywhere in 10 years - there’s clearly something special about Network School. It’s also obvious there’s nothing in the frontier. It was a ghost city a year ago. Unless individuals make an extraordinary effort - to build from nothing, to turn a Temasek into a Singapore, to turn sand into neon, to create order out of chaos - it stays that way. If Arc has any purpose at Network School, it’s to make it easier for those trying to create something out of nothing - right here, in the frontier. It’s for founders who realize it’s not just what you’re building, but where you’re building that matters. Ârc and Network School together are the best place in the world right now to build and start a company. Who here knows On Deck? I used to run On Deck London with David Booth. I’d tell people it’s the first place the best people go before they start their next venture. But now - I genuinely believe Ârc at Network School is the best place for you to start your next venture. And I’m pleased to announce: Ârc is launching its next cohort January 1st - a new year, a new you. Come lock in and change the world at Network School with us. We’re running a deliberate program focused on the outcomes that matter: finding a co-founder, your idea, your first customer, your first hire, your first check. Just these things. Nothing else. That’s the beauty of Network School - everything else is taken care of. You can just drive forward and level up. You’re not a guinea pig. We’ve run 100+ events this year. We have 50 founders in a structured month-long program right now. There’s already incredible talent in the frontier. I’ve worked with several funds over 12 years of venture building. I’ve seen people go from zero to unicorn. And I see those same kinds of founders at Network School today. That’s why we’re also launching the Ârc Syndicate - to invest in these frontier founders. We’re a network, after all. Let’s leverage it to accelerate those building the frontier. Together, these programs - support and investment - form a model for Ârc to create something from nothing. From Network School’s next node, your layer 1, and eventually Ârc’s own city. A city not just for those companies and families I mentioned earlier - but one that you will help build. A place we’ll call home. Thank you so much for being here. Come and visit us."

The best AI tools & tactics are stuck in private chats and buried Slack threads. So I'm spinning up a few WhatsApp groups for folks who are actively using AI in their day-to-day. First is an AI group for ceos/founders. Second is an AI group for engineers & engineering leaders. Third is an AI group for marketers & marketing leaders. No sales pitches. Just smart people sharing how they’re using AI to move faster, do more, and stay ahead. If you want to join one of these groups, reply with "ai" and I’ll DM you an invite.

@zan2434 Love it. Would it be a better interaction model if you gave the users a small number of different directions they can dig deeper on?

What a week! Last-minute application to @a16z @speedrun ... and we made it to the next stage. 1:1s with @balajis and @donovansung. Seeing up close what it takes to build something great. The real magic? @thenetworkstate. Not just cohort-mates – a tribe. Need video editing? @0xbiriyani's there. Fundraising advice? @James_of_Arc has my back. Storytelling help? @WeedleChamp there with framing and positioning tips. Design? @DegenGigaMan across the hall. These aren't LinkedIn connections. They're real friends living under the same roof, grinding from early mornings to late nights, building at a pace I didn't think was possible. Breaking shit, fixing it, breaking it again, but moving forward every damn day. Would I trade this rollercoaster for anything? Not a chance. (Though sleep would be nice. And having my fiancée not halfway across the world would be pretty damn good too.)
