@d_feldman Canadian living in the USA temporarily - we have all the same things as the US (mental health crisis', the modern internet) but we limit access to guns. We still have guns!! People still hunt or shoot for fun! But you have to be vetted and registered. It is NOT too much to ask.

@MidOfficer That's fair. It also doesn't train them like professionals. Seargent Majors are a bad news breed of their own. Mine drove out about 12 Cpls/MCpls in the last 18 months. Got an IC for it, still doing it.

@cydneybproctor That's fair - kit doesn't solve all problems. But I've personally talked to talented young Cpls & MCpls who end up leaving because they don't think our system takes them seriously as professionals because it doesn't equip them like professionals.

When I try to explain the challenges of morale & retention in the Canadian Army, I frequently compare our soldiers to the USMC. Canada has unfortunately failed consistently to properly equip the individual soldier, both for lack of funds & lack of attention. We must do better.

@ReiverHall I am not against the discussion, and agree with your point. However, even a RSM's position may not refect a CAF position. (most often will of course).

Somebody explain to me like I am again a 17 YO brand new in the CAF how the CAF can use "What right looks like" then make sceanarios that are "for discussion" without providing CLEAR and unambigious explainations of what IS right?
