In Saint Petersburg they got a federal grant for recycling bins, trucks, and crews. After a couple of years the grant ran out. The city kept making us separate out recyclables and running the trucks and crews to pick them up. And dump them in with the regular trash. They did this for years. And the crews had to know what they were doing. Nobody told. They just kept doing it and cashing the checks.

This is Tiburon, California. Residents can be fined up to $500 for not separating their trash. Then it’s collected… and dumped together anyway, straight into the landfill. Obedience is mandatory. Logic is optional.
