@vveiln By the way this vuln was caused by missing ZK proofs in the implementation. We had to patch this several years ago, and thorc didn't for some reason

Honestly, to me MPC feels like nothing compared by complexity to ZK, so if MPC is so fragile, what should we expect of ZK? Interactivity makes MPC worse and it is hard to compare different categories, but then let's just think of co-SNARKs and other interactive augmentations
Adam Back@adam3us

@P3b7_ @jpthor as one of the few who understood the cryptography of MPC of DSA, my take is: too complex to make work securely, due to adaptive cryptography attacks, implementation/cryptography bugs, few understand enough to review. plus the shards are all ONLINE in software servers. not good!

@Pinkudakara Very pretty! But making it green is maybe antithematic: the citadel is choking all the lands around it, destroying the nature

Have you ever noticed most fun gameplay goes up or horizontal, but rarely down? You can jump, climb, fly, float, swing etc up But anything that goes down merely gets in the way of falling

@d86leader @brobrobroaaa @ChazakielDoremi I haven’t read the entirety of Worm yet, but is Taylor really much of a humanities girl? I mean, sure she did good in her history project or whatever but it’s not really a focus of the story

I was thinking a while ago about how all STEM guys write novels like "what if a STEM guy had to solve all problems" and that humanities guys write about humanities guys who have sex. But what if I wrote a book about a humanities girl who solves all problems with humanity studies?

@brobrobroaaa @ChazakielDoremi There's a big web serial about it called Ward. Unfortunately it's a sequel to a bigger web serial about a humanities girl solving all her problems with STEM (and violence)

hornet's old hearts arc is similar to grimm's existence's principle in a way. She ended off old civilizations for good so that new ones can start in its place, much like how consuming nightmares kills a dying kingdom for good -

@vveiln Corollary: it's cheaper to convince the market that a system is secure than to actually make it secure

The unfortunate asymmetry of secure software development is that developers must go out of their way to ensure the system is secure and convince their users, but for an attacker, one lucky guess can be enough. They don't need to know for sure how the system works (tho it helps)

@misterclayt0n What are the requirements to be a "standard" io? Or "stddef"? What's so standard about _those_ definitions? The name is slightly strange, but not as strange as ocaml's being named "Belt"

Took beloved video game title and made something completely different by new devs in early access before causing a ton of layoffs and ending support before it even leaves early access Could this be the video game equivalent of a pump-and-dump scheme

@vveiln I see two likely options: either it's going to get shushed by NIST/NSA for several years, or it's going to get hyped to hell some time before its ready by clickbaiting newspapers. Given how IBM already likes to boast their quantum sizes, I'm slightly betting on the second
